Chapter 10

I opened my eyes, slowly but was greeted with an unfamiliar sight. This isn’t my room. I yawned and stretched before getting out of bed and looking around. The room was huge and very red. The walls, carpet and curtains were a burgundy colour and there was only a few bitts of furniture in the room including a wall mounted T.V, a giant wardrobe, a chest of drawers and some shelves, that are covered in junk. There was also an en suite. I shook my head, how can Kyle afford all this? I headed to the bathroom and stared at my reflection, man I look horrendous. My eyes were puffy, with dark circles underneath them; my hair looked greasy and was sticking up at odd angles. I decided to take a quick shower. Afterwards I dried and straightened my hair, giving it volume. I dressed myself in a pair of grey skinny jeans and a simple black t-shirt, next I started on my face. I applied some light foundation, to hide the imperfections then I went around my blue eyes, with thick black eyeliner, making them look even bigger. I also decided to wear some earrings, some simple pink and black studs will do. I looked in the mirror, finally happy with my appearance, so I headed downstairs.

I entered the living room, knowing my way as Kyle gave me a tour last night and I noticed three boys. They were all yelling things at each other. I cleared my throat and they immediately stopped, and looked at me.

“Er, hi.” I said, waving at them awkwardly. They continued to stare. I tried again.

“Do you guys know were Kyle is?” Again they didn’t reply, I began to get annoyed, I walked towards one of the sofas and sat on it, their eyes followed me.

“What? Have you never seen a girl before?” I asked. I hate people staring at me, it freaks me out. What was their problem? One of them stops staring and walks over to me, sitting the space next to me.

“Hi, I’m Jason, but call me Jase” He said. Jason was pretty hot. He has dark brown hair, which was quite long, his fringe covered his hazel eyes and he kept brushing it out of the way.

“Hey, I’m Alice.” I smiled, happy that someone was talking to me. Once Jason had started talking the others joined in.

“I’m Ben.” One of them said waving madly. He stood out from the rest as his hair was blond and gelled into perfect spikes

“And I’m Steve.” The other muttered, looking at me up and down. He also has brown hair, although his is cut short. I smiled at them both. I could tell straight away that all three of these guys are players, especially Steve, who continued to check me out.

“So you’re Alice?” Ben asked.

“Yup, that’s me.” I nodded.

“I thought you would be smaller. How old are you?” Ben continued to ask.

“I’m sixteen, but I’ll be seventeen soon.” I told him.

“Why are you here?” Jason asked. I frowned.

“I got kicked out of my house and Kyle said I could stay here. He didn’t tell you?” They all shook their head.

“Wait, you got kicked out of your house?” Jase asked, looking shocked, “What did you do?”

“Long story short: my mother and I had a disagreement, and she threw me out.” I shrugged, acting like I couldn’t care less. It took forever for me too sleep last night. I wondered how Tanya was, waking up without me. I wonder if Mum told her what happened, or would she lie to make me look like the bad guy?

“So Kyle let you stay here?” I nodded.

“I had phoned all of my other friends and they could, as it’s too near Christmas. Even my so called boyfriend couldn’t let me stay as there is no space.” I scoffed, Zach’s house was huge. Maybe a bit smaller than this one, there was plenty of space; three rooms aren’t being used at all, last time I checked. Why was he lying? Was he cheating on me again? Brook’s words flashed through my mind
