Chapter 19

Kyle’s POV

I watched Alice run up the stairs, crying her eyes out. I couldn’t stand to see her upset and my heart was telling me to run after and hold her in my arms, but my feet couldn’t move. I don’t want to do! I wanted to help Alice and kill Zach at the same time, but what he said was stuck in my mind. ‘Aww poor Alice, chasing after a guy who doesn’t want to you. I guess you should have broken up with me earlier, back when this jerk liked you’. Did she really like me? If she did, why now?! Why couldn’t she like me when I was single?! I sighed in frustration and ran my fingers through my hair.

“You okay baby?” Yasmin asked, running a finger down my arm.

“Yeah I’m fine, but I think it’s better if we left.” I muttered, grabbing her hand and heading to the front door. The rest followed, wanting to give Alice some space.

“Can I come back to your house?” Yasmin asked. I nodded. Alice was still in my mind. I wanted to turn back round and tell her how I felt but I couldn’t. I felt anger rise up in me as I thought about Alice. Why didn’t she tell me that she liked me! I’ve been right next to her ever since we met then when I leave she wants me!

“Hey Kyle, can I have a word?” Jase asked. I nodded and left Yasmin as she headed to my car. I walked towards Jase who was surrounded by everyone else. As soon as I was close enough, Brook stood forward and brought her fist straight to my face.

“What the hell?!” I exclaimed.

“What are you doing with that slut? I thought you liked Alice!” She told me, her face red in anger. I shook my head.

“I did.”

“Then why aren’t you upstairs with her, wait you did?” Jake asked, noticing the past tense.

“Why do I always have to go to her? I stood at her side, waiting for her to notice me, but she chose Zach over me. Now she wants me, when she can’t have me. She should have chosen me to begin with, not led me on, while I followed her like a lost puppy hoping we could get together. I’m done with her.” I told them before walking away.

“You’re a bigger arsehole that Zach! How could you be so selfish?!” Brook yelled. I ignored her, got in my car and drove home.

 If Alice wants me, she has to fight for me.

Alice’s POV

I woke up, and rubbed my swollen eyes. I never want to leave this house again. Zach basically told everyone I was in love with Kyle and embarrassed me in front of my friends. I walked downstairs and was confronted with the gang. I froze.

“What are you guys doing here?” I whispered.

“We wanted to see if you were okay.” Jake said.

“I’m fine, you can leave now.”

“So that’s it? You’re just giving up? I thought you loved Kyle.” Jake said. I winced.

“I don’t know if you realised this Jake, but Kyle has a girlfriend.”

“Yeah but no one likes Yasmin, even Kyle doesn’t. He was happy when they broke up the first time.” Jase told me.

“Then why did he go back out with her?”

“Because he is an idiot! He thought he didn’t have a chance with you, as you had Zach.”

“But now he has Yasmin, and I don’t have a chance.” I told him.

“He’s stubborn. He won’t come running to you because he thinks that you’re going to run after him.” Ben said. “ He will want to fight for him and prove that you like him.” I rubbed my forehead.
