Lian was excited. In fact she was over the moon. Today she was wedding dress shopping and she had no idea what look she wanted. Ever since she and Derick had planned on a late summer wedding Lian knew this day would come. Nicole had made an appointment for her with a great designer called May Thompson. Lian had seen some of her designs at London Fashion week and was very impressed. The designs were classy bohemian chic yet elegant and that was exactly the kind of dress Lian wanted for her wedding day.
Lian waited outside of the designer shop and smiled as she saw all the fashionable designs neatly arranged inside.
'Hey girl, you're on time for once.' Tania told her as she came to give her a hug.
'I'm excited to be dress shopping.' Lian squealed as they both showed their excitement.
'I never thought I would see this day.' Lian's mother said and they turned to greet her.
'Hey Mummy, so glad you could come over.' Lian hugged her mother tightly. They had always been close but as she grew older they had drifted apart somewhat. The last few months had been trying and her mother had been her rock. She was a great support system.
'How could I miss my daughter's first wedding dress shopping trip? Never!' Her mother said loudly.
'How are you doing Tania?' Her mother asked her friend. who was standing next to her. Both Lian and Lian were casually dressed. Lian had on a multicolured knee length tea dress while Tania elected for dark pair of blue chinos and a long sleeved white shirt.
'I'm doing great thanks.' Tania responded nicely.
'You look stunning, motherhood really suits you. How is Baby Luke and Lucas?' her mother continued to prod.
'They are both fine, Lucas has crazy hours at the hospital and Luke has started to make his first steps.' Tania revealed.
'That is wonderful the boy is growing so fast. Soon he will be ready for you to give him away in marriage.' Her mother said and they laughed.
'Oh no, not just yet, I'm enjoying his baby years too much. In fact I am almost done with my speciality training for general practice which will suit my childcare needs so much better. I will be able to set firm work hours so Luke and I don't miss each other too much.' Tania told them.
'So are you going to open your own GP practice or will you do a partnership? Lian asked.
'Do you remember Monroe Taylor and Sally Langford from uni, they were the student body reps?' Tania asked Lian.
'Sure I remember interviewing them for the school publication a couple of times.' Lian responded.
'Well they have their own practice and have invited me to become a partner when I finish my training.' Lian hugged her friend. 'They need a doctor with paediatric experience.'
