"Know something I just noticed? You're getting freckles." Remi was leaned between Jakob's legs, soft afternoon light filtering through the thin curtains. Jakob was gently brushing his fingers through Remi's curly hair, over his tanned cheeks.
Remi touched his own face, looking up at Jakob. "Really? Are you sure?"
"Mmhmm," Jakob smiled fondly. "You'll have a little galaxy of freckles, starting with this one on your nose." He pokes the brown spot with a long finger. "It'll be kinda cute, I think."
Remi rolled his eyes, swatting at Jakob's hand teasingly. "Yeah, yeah, alright, Porcelain Boy. Stop pointing out others' imperfections."
Jakob laughed, a soft, rumbly sound. "Fine. What shall we talk about, then?"
Remi's eyes took on a mischievous glint that simultaneously excited and worried Jakob. "Do we have to talk about anything at all," he drawled, sliding his hand up Jakob's thigh, along the ledge of Jakob's pants.
Jakob's breath hitched, and he looked anxiously to the door. Remi's hand continued inching along, towards less public spaces, and he grabbed it, stopped it from moving any further. "Shit, Rem... My aunt's home."
Remi grinned, flipping around, pushing himself up onto his knees. He notched his hips in between Jakob's, pressing close. "So?" He kissed a trail down his friend's neck, pausing at his collarbone. "Aw, look. You're blushing."
Jakob sucked in air, squeezed Remi's waist, trying not to let himself get overwhelmed. "Remi, my aunt is gonna hear us."
"Not if we're quiet," Remi winked.
Jakob rolled his eyes playfully, shaking his head. "You're too loud, very vocal. And she'll be all upset because we aren't... Official." There was a pause, during which he experienced a foot in mouth experience. Remi tended to be rather sensitive about the status of their relationship, and Jakob did his best not to bring it up. "I don't care about it at all, but you know how she is," he added, trying to backtrack.
Remi pouted, hiding his hurt with bold actions, sliding his hands back and forth along Jakob's waist, staring up at him through thick eyelashes. Then, without warning, he pressed himself as close as possible in a solid thrust that made Jakob's eyes roll back in their sockets. "Please, can we do something? I'll be quiet." To drive his point home, he moved their hips together none too gently.
Jakob, blinking to try and get rid of the stars wandering around behind his eyes, nodded too quickly. "Yeah, okay, yes. Now." His hands fumbled, trying to get up and into Remi's hair, shaking with urgency.
Remi chuckled. "Wow, someone's a bit eager. Don't strain yourself, love."
Jakob picked Remi up, swung him onto the bed, and trapped him in with his arms. This made Remi notice exactly how much taller Jakob had gotten over the summer. "Shut up," Jakob murmured, a flirtatious smile crawling over his lips.
He claimed Remi's lips in a heated kiss, pinning him down with his body, and Remi, pleasantly surprised, loved every bit of it.

At three am, Jakob woke up drenched in cold sweat. He was already sitting up, and Remi was straddling his lap, stroking his pale hair. "Nightmare?"
Jakob nodded slowly, trying to keep himself from shaking. He pulled Remi into his chest, hanging onto him like he was the last thing left to hold onto. "About my mom. She took you away from me, and you were gone, and I..." He buried his face in Remi's hair, eyes squeezed shut.
Remi rubbed his back soothingly, rocking him back and forth. "Hey, now. It's okay. I'm here, I'm not going anywhere. She's not around anymore, okay? Deep breaths."
A moment of silence moved across the room, weighing down on Jakob. He needed to say something, anything to break it up. "Remi? Darlene never knew about us, did she?"
Remi furrowed his eyebrow, confusion clear on his features. "I mean... No. Not really. We sort of just drifted apart. I never told her that it was because of you."
"Why not?"
"I- I don't know. It just wasn't necessary," Remi stuttered, discomfort coating his tongue. "She didn't need to know."
"I want someone to know." A whisper, almost an afterthought. Jakob wondered how it escaped his throat. "It doesn't really matter. I don't even know why I said that."
There was a chilling stillness in Remi. He didn't move, barely breathed, and Jakob wanted to disappear. It was true; he was tiring of hiding his feelings from everyone, but he hadn't planned on airing these grievances any time soon.
"Why do you want people to know? Why can't it just be us?"
Jakob sighed. "It can. I just was thinking about... Eventually. You know?"
"I guess." Remi's arms twitched, and Jakob worried for a moment that the arms around his torso would retract, leaving him to warm himself for the night. "One day. Okay, babe? Just not yet. I'm not ready yet."
Jakob hesitated, then nodded. "Okay."
A/N: This one's gonna be in two parts, sort of. Part two might come very soon or in quite a long time as my free time in the coming weeks will be very hard to predict. Hopefully it'll be soon, though :)
See you all next update xx
