chapter 7

Amy's POV

It was sonic. But for some reason I just smiled and let him in, along with tails and cream and blaze. We all sat down and talked except sonic. He looked...confused and scared. 

All the possible moments this could be the perfect time! I could hang out with him. But... I didn't. I didn't want to.

Sonics POV

Amy was at the party! Ugh now I have to deal with this again. As I stepped in, Amy just smiled and went back to talk to rouge. "Huh?" I said confused, she wasn't annoying me... I dont know whether I should be grateful or surprised. Maybe rouge finally got into her.

Rouges POV

More people arrived and soon it was 7 pm, and everyone was hyped. people had glowsticks on, they were eating the chips, we even had people actually waiting to do karaoke! I go to the middle of the room. "Who wants to start KARAOKE!!!?". Everyone yelled yes and whistled and whooped! Blade, knuckles and Amy helped me set up the karaoke machine.

"Hey this party is great!" Knuckles said loudly enough to hear. "I know! Did you bring him!?" I said. "Yup, he's on the couch!" he points to shadow on the couch. He wasn't smiling but I could see that he was happy. "Hey! What's shadow doing there all alone!" Amy asked" I shrugged and said "go talk to him!". Amy nodded and walked over the couch

Knuckles rolled his eyes at rouge "wasn't this supposed to be just a dinner?" "I mean yeaaaah but parties are fun!" Rouge says. 

Amy's POV

I walked over to shadow since he was all lonely. "Hey shadow!" I wave and sit down. He looked up to see me and he smiled. "Hello, I thought you would be here" he said."Haha! Well it's good that i am,hey wanna sing with me, blaze, silver, knuckles and rouge!" I say loud enough for him to hear. "I guess" he shrugged. I smile and drag him to the group. "Y'all ready?!" Rouge said excited. We all nod and go on the stage. Just then sonic goes up to us, "hey, can I join?!" He asked. Rouge and I turn to look at each other in confusion. THE sonic? Asking to sing with us? I just shrug at her. "Sure!" She says cheerfully. He steps up on the stage.

"KARAOKE TIME PEOPLE" everyone cheered and got into one group."wait, what song are we doing?" I asked. "Beat it by Michael Jackson" silver said getting hyped. "LET'S START!" Rouge said while giving us the mics.

"They told him don't ever come around here!, don't want to see your face, you better disappear!"
"The fires in their eyes and their words are pretty clear, so beat it, just beat it!"

every one cheered and danced as they continued singing.

"You better run, you better do what you can! Don't wanna see no blood don't be a macho man!"

Rouge sang slightly louder than shadow.

"You wanna be tough, you better do what you can, so beat it, but you wanna be bad!" Amy and blaze yelled the last part.

"So beat It! Beat it! Beat It! Beat it! No one wants to be defeated!"

People started singing along, we sounded pretty good.

"SHOWIN HOW FUNKY, STRONG IS OUR FIGHT! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO'S WRONG OR RIGHT!"

We all sang the rest of the song and soon it ended. "REFRESHMENTS IN THE KITCHEN!" Rouge said yelling in the mic. Everyone just whooped and yelled. Some people started heading to the kitchen while the rest enjoyed the party. I sat down on the couch feeling exhausted.

Shadows POV

The song ended and I felt tired as hell, I decided to go and get a drink

"Hey shadow!" I turn around and see knuckles jogging towards me." Hello knuckles" I said. "You enjoying the party?" He asked. "More or less, I really don't feel like singing anymore" I say while taking a sip from my cup. "Eh don't worry, just hang out, meet some people!" Knuckles said gesturing to the crowd.

I looked over and see the "sonic" one. I don't see how people gets us mixed up, he's blue and not, he's stubborn, I'm not. I guess I could talk to him for a while."fine" I say to knuckles. I leave and go towards sonic, he seemed distracted. "Um hello?" I say trying to get his attention. "Huh?" He said turning to me. "You're sonic, correct?". "Yup, the one and only, who's asking?" He said proudly. I roll my eyes and say "I'm shadow, apparentlyyoure the one who everyone seems to say I'm similar with" "that's weird haha, good thing were both here." He said in a distracted tone. He seemed odd, something off. "Hey are you alright?" I asked. He looked at Amy, then back at me "nah, I'm fine, just confused about something" he said shrugging. "Uh huh, well nice meeting you" I say as I walked off. Why is he confused and looking at Amy? I heard she stopped bothering him, but it can't be that. I then go up to Amy. You know, to see some reaction from the blue hedgehog himself. 

"Hello amy" I said. "Hey shadow! Enjoying the party?" She said smiling. "Eh, it's good but I don't like singing" I say shrugging. "Oh well I hope you're doing okay" she said slightly sad. "Hey do you know why sonic is acting so distracted?" I said gesturing at him. I noticed he was looking at us, mostly glaring. Amy shrugged "he's been acting like that since the party started, its kind, making me uncomfortable for the first time". "For the first time?" I say worried. " yeah usually it's me looking at him from a distance. " after a long pause she realized what she has said. "Aah that sounds horrible" shes embarrassed, cute. "Dont worry it's okay, beside it be here if he tries anything" I say pretending to be as proud as him. She chuckled.

The rest of the party I talked to Amy, we laughed and soon the party was over. People started leaving and thanking rouge. Soon it was just me, Amy, rouge, knuckles, sonic, and tails. We helped clean up and we noticed it was 1 in the morning.

Rouges POV

As we cleaned up, sonic was just always around Amy pretending to be cleaning whenever she looked at him. "Thanks again guys" I say as I drink some soda. "No problem rouge, thanks for the party!" Tails said as he picked up the cups from the couches. I smiled and continued cleaning. I see amy becomes really tired so I let her take a break and some soda so she can rest. 

*15 minutes later*

"Finally!" Knuckles said as he jumped onto the couch "We finished". "Yup, hey can anyone give me a ride home, I came walking here" Amy's said looking outside. "I will!" Shadow and sonic said in unison. Everybody stared at them surprised. "Ehehe thanks but I'll go with shadow, sonic" Amy said scratching the back of her neck. Sonic just glared at shadow as they walked outside together. 

"Woah sonic, didn't know you had a thing for Amy" I said taking a sip from my cup. "I didn't either" he said while staring at the door. It was just awkward silence now. I nudge knuckles for him to listen to me. "Hey go talk to sonic real quick, he doesn't look right" I say. "Hes never looked right" knuckles says as he walks over to sonic.

Shadows POV

I can't believe she chose me. She's probably still trying to avoid sonic still though. As I was driving to her house, it was silent. "Thanks for giving me a ride shadow" Amy said breaking the silence. "No problem..." I say as I park slowly at her house. "Well this is my stop" she said taking off her seatbelt. "Wait" I say as I get out the car. She looked confused until I opened the door for her. "Why, thank you, didn't think youd be a gentleman" she said laughing. I help her off and pulled her close. She stared at me in confusion until...
