"But, the morning sickness,"

"Antidepressants side effect"

"But why did you think she was pregnant five weeks ago?"

"Her blood, "

We sat in silence.

"I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to help?" he asks

"No thankyou. " we walk out and sit in the car in silence. Just like when we thought I was ppregnant But I'm not this time.

"Beth-"

"Stop. There isn't gonna be any pity-partying for me."

"What?"

"You heard me, now drive."

Mason cleared his throat and obeyed my command.

I get out of the car and slam the door and go straight to the was-soon-to-be-baby's-room.

I sob. I sob. I sob so much I think I became dehydratated.

Mason doesn't come in. Good.

I hear the doorbell ring. And the guest room door opens. My mom walks in.

"Mom?"

"Yes, Mason told me everything and I can right over" she explained

I must've been sobbing longer than I thought.

She sits next to me and cradles my head in her lap. "Everything's going to be just fine."
