Just add water

I wake up in the morning, my face red and bleh from crying.

I get dressed, I wear my whitewash jeans with rips at the ankles and my Winnie the poo shirt that has piglet and pooh on it that says 'A blustery day' and my pink cardigan.

"Mom?" "Yes?" "I have to go to Mason's to-" "yayyyyy!!!!" my mom yells before I can finish. "To give back the ring, and get my stuff from his house." "Ohh...okay bye now" "Bye"

I get in my car and Mason's favorite song is on the radio, Look After You By the Fray. I start crying and can't stop by the time I get to his house. He's waiting on the steps and runs up to my car. I get out and he quickly engulfs me in a hug. He's so warm, and his face is wet. I give in and let him hug me, but I don't hug back.

"I've missed you so much!" Ha. "What about Arianna?" I ask sarcastically while walking to his front door. "I dumped her for you." awwwwwww

NO. "oh. cool." "I was hoping we could back together." "We tried Mason, but you get bored with me and you go out and get another girl. You keep forgetting, I'm just backup." Ouch, that hit him hard. GOOD

"Here's your oh so expensive ring." I hold it out. "Keep it." He's crying, real tears, in front of me. We're still on his front step. "Beth, I'm so sorry, I love you and I hurt you, and I'm so sorry!"

"Your hurt." I state. "Yes!" He yells "Who was hurt? Twice? Worse than this? Oh wait, me, your backup plan."

"Beth, I want your love and I promise! I cross my heart I HOPE TO DIE FOR YOU! I will not cheat! I will not lay eyes in another girl! I won't do anything! I love you! I love you! I fucking love you!" I'm crying now too.

He goes on and on about how much he loves me. I let my emotions take control and lean in and plant a kiss on his swollen lips. "Wha-?" "I fucking love you too." I stand there. He smiles, "so...?"

"So I think you said you wouldn't cheat again. or lay eyes on another girl. or fo anything worse." "So we can be together!?" "Mason." "What?"
