Elizabeth's POVThis was the night my whole life changed. The night that Caleb Brier walked into my life. The only question is, was it a good thing?
----
The minute I walked through the door of my two story house I wished I had stayed at Rebecca's.
"ELIZABETH LEANNE!" yelled my mother from the kitchen. "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Rolling my eyes, I strolled in, where she awaited my arrival.
My mother, Sarah Anderson (her maiden name) wasn't a necessarily tall women compared to me.
I'm a whopping 5'9" with long brown hair that reached my hips. Describing the texture of my hair is where things got difficult, it was all a mixture of curls and waves. I am quite simple and mostly invisible with my outfit choices of black skinny jeans, black converse and one of my many hoodies. I have a very pale skin tone with bright green doe eyes and small (slightly puckered looking) pink lips. I don't wear a ton of makeup except a bit of eyeliner and mascara when I feel like it.
My mother on the other hand, is 5'6" with sort of long, tangled black hair almost reaching her belly button. She was wearing what she usually did when she was home, sweatpants and a crooked t-shirt she couldn't be bothered to fix. Her skin isn't clear at all, she has craters from previous breakout and new pimples all over, but she has never been into skin care anyways. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention she is an alcoholic and previous cocaine addict.
But that changed recently when she realized she liked heroin better.
The kitchen counter was littered with needles, bent spoons and such. I could hardly contain my disgust when I first saw it but it's something you get used to seeing I guess. Or a reaction you get used to hiding...
"What's up?" I asked nonchalantly.
"Don't act stupid Elizabeth, you know exactly what is up!" She shook her head from side to side as she talked with her hands on her hips, she was most definitely high.
"Where were you?! You need to tell me when your gonna be home late!""I told you this morning that I was going to Rebecca's to study!"
I am currently a senior in high school and am about to turn 18 (in exactly two months and nine days as a matter of fact). And no we weren't actually studying. We were just catching up on the new episodes of Stranger Things, but she doesn't need to know that.
"Oh please, you were probably out with Jason sleeping around as usual." She fired back at me.
Jason Steen as you must know, is my ex-boyfriend. Jason stands at the height of 5'11", not much taller than me. He has a pale white complexion with long shoulder length blond hair and dark brown eyes. He is also on the football team so he definitely thinks very highly of himself. I broke up with him a couple months back, but yet he cant take the hint that it is over and Im not interested.
"Is that all you think I am? All I ever do? Just go around and sleep with everyone in sight!?" She has no room to judge anyone even if that was the case. I mean, look at what she is doing with her life.
