Chapter 6: Running from Tom

It felt like hours went by with nothing but deadly silence. I was still so weak and could barely move. A few boys came in and I recognised them from the night school so they weren’t complete strangers to me.

One was named Harrison. He was the tallest out of the three guys and the biggest, full of muscle of course. He wasn’t in my year but he was around three vampire years older than me. You would often see him with his girlfriend, Bella.

She was a beautiful girl and I often envied her beauty whenever I saw her. She had hair a little longer than her shoulders. Her hair was an amazing orange colour with faint blonde highlights. It suited her well and she never wore much make up because of her natural beauty. I spoke to her every now and then but Harrison was a bit intimidating as if he’ll kill you when you come closer than three steps to Bella.

The other two guys I didn’t know but I knew they weren’t in my year, therefore making them stronger and more powerful than me, especially when I was in that weakened state. I could see the hunger in all their eyes faintly. They weren’t starving so their eyes weren’t scarlet but they still wanted food.

All three of them fell to the floor wanting blood, my blood. There was nothing I could do. I couldn’t run, I couldn’t hide, I couldn’t ask for help and I couldn’t make them stop. Tom couldn’t bear to watch me and I knew he felt guilty.

Tears were falling down my face. Its like when you are being raped and you don’t know what to do but cry because you know there is no escape so that’s what I did, I laid there and cried. I felt so alone as if no one loved me, wanted me or cared about me. I felt as if I had no friends and as if I was nothing.

I flinched as one of the guys sunk their fangs in my leg. Then the other two bit me as well in different places. I felt so drained already that I was sure I was going to die because of the blood loss.

I felt better the next night. I saw I was covered in teeth marks on my arms, legs, hands and a few more were on my neck. They had all turned into scars and I knew they would stay that way for a while unless I fed.

I hadn’t been moved from the floor and the floor hadn’t been cleaned either so it was still covered in blood. I quietly stood up and started making my way towards the door.

I had no shoes on so I could be a little quieter than if I did have some on. I barely ever wear shoes, I don’t know why but I just really don’t like wearing shoes.

My feet were really cold so I didn’t notice when one of my feet became cooler until I went to take another step. I looked down to see ice had covered my foot, freezing it to the ground.

I looked up to see Tom standing in front of me with a smirk on his face. “Last night was fun, wasn’t it?” he asked.

“No it wasn’t Tom. You could barely look at me! You felt guilty of doing this to me so you avoided every chance you had to look of my weak body! Don’t deny it Tom,” I yelled at him. “Now let me go!”

“Why should I? So you can go running off to protect your little friends in the day class from us? You can’t protect them Vicky! You can’t protect from something that you are!” Tom yelled at me.

I felt a tear fall down my face at his words. They hurt me. Those words hurt when you didn’t have a choice in what you became. Tom sighed before letting me go. I went straight to my room, had a shower and sat on my bed. Jake never came for me so I was alone for the rest of the night.

I didn’t go to school on Tuesday. I didn’t think I would be able to face Tom after what had happened in his room. For an hour I just laid on my bed, in my room waiting for class to end. I wasn’t that bored for the hour. I just laid on my bed, drowning in my own thoughts.
