Ava had barely any control and though she would be acting normal there would be times when she would turn pale and her eyes would roll back. It scared Carl and everytime he would reach out. But in an instant she would recover and bat him off.
Ava being the kind soul she was forgave the gang, but she didn't rejoin it. They had lost her trust, something they would most likely never get back. She kept in contact, and Carl did his best to stay close to her. Helping her out in every way he could while she gave him the cold shoulder.
Ava hated being vulnerable. So she made out she wasn't. She was daring enough to leave her temporary inhaler at home and had gotten in trouble multiple times for doing so. Ava became her own person, deciding to live on solitude.
For the thirtieth time she found herself gasping for breath, head in a turmoil of dizziness. She threw herself into her apartment stumbling as she searched for the plastic blue contraption. Finally finding it she took a forceful breath before leaning heavily against the sofa, regaining her breath.
" I told you to take your inhaler wherever you go." Someone scolded her. She looked up to find the door she'd left open and the bulky figure of Carl standing at it. He sighed shaking his head.
"I know you don't want to depend on anyone - least of all me- but this is your health Ava. You can't let it go to waste."
She didn't reply. She didn't want to. Instead she slowly stood up, ignoring his presence. Chucked her inhaler on the coffee table and disappeared into the kitchen for a glass of water. But he followed.
"Ava - just listen. It's only temporary. Before you know it you won't have to use it again. Think about it. You would rather use it for a while rather than be stuck with it permanently. Right?" He reasoned. "Sometimes it's okay to depend on something for a while. Give them a chance. They don't have to be there forever but they can help you when you need it."
"Get out Carl. I didn't let you in." Avery ordered. She knew he wasn't just talking about the inhaler. He was talking about her giving him another chance. She scoffed. Like hell that would happen. Like hell she would trust anyone ever again.
