Feelings

"Cameron, why do you love me?" you say one afternoon. You and Cameron are sitting on the beach watching the sunset. Today has been a rough day, and you were feeling kind of insecure.

"Are you ok?" He says, putting his pencil down and giving you a concerned look.

"Yeah... Never mind, Sorry I asked." Silence fills the space around you once more.

"I love you because you're you," Cameron starts. "With all your flaws and perks."

"Cameron, it's ok. You don't have to do this." you tell him shyly.

"No, it's ok. I want to. I realized I never really told you and I think it's time I did."

"Ok..." You say, still a little hesitant.

"I love the way you smile when you see me. I love the way your eyes are bright even in the darkest times. I love how you stick up for the things you believe in. I love your strength, courage, and compassion. I love how you are so caring towards everyone; like that one time that you dropped your books on the floor and ran to the other side of the hall just to help that new girl who was getting frustrated with her locker. And I could never forget the time you called me at two in the morning asking me for a ride to one of your friend's houses because she needed you. I love how you wake up in the morning and FaceTime me even though your hair is a mess and you aren't wearing any makeup because you are confident about yourself. And you look pretty no matter what. I love how you are always on my mind and you make me a better person. I love how you point me in the right direction, but you make me go crazy for you at the same time. I love how you're smarter than me even though I'm two years older. But most of all,
(y/n), I love the fact that you love me for who I am and you don't want to change me. That, my darling, is why I love you."

A tear rolls down your cheek. No one has ever said something as sweet as that to you. In that moment you realized that this is the man you want to spend the rest of your life with.
