"You know this doesn't change anything Niall", I say to Niall as we both sit by Rosie's hospital bed, I look at her little breaths she takes as she lies so still
"Yeah", he nods and he ruffles his soft blonde hair.
The door opens and in come the doctor, he explains to us that it was a severe asthma attack,
"You did the right thing bringing her in", he smiles,
"You make wonderful parents together" he says looking up from his clipboard.
I glance at Niall, our eyes meet, but we both quickly look away,
"Thanks doctor" Niall says as the doctor walks away
There is silence excepts for the ruffling of Rosie's bed sheets as she kicks out in her sleep.
"We better go pick Charlie's up from Harrys" I mumble
"Oh Harry said he can stay the night" Niall pipes up
"Oh, ok" I say quietly.
The doctor comes back in a tells us that Rosie is fine to go home.
I pick up her bag and hand it to Niall whilst I carry her to the car.
"Thanks, Niall, for coming back for us, I was so scared" I smile at him
"It's ok Em" he smiles back.
It's so weird, it's as if we hardly know each other, we never have had a fight before. It's awkward and strange.
I drive off with Rosie in the back, back home. Without Niall. Or Charlie. Maybe it's best we have some time alone, time for me to clear my head.
The next day:
"Thanks Harry for dropping him off" I smile at Harry as Charlie comes running in,
"No problem darling" he winks at me. I laugh as he smiles at me,
"So, Niall wanted me to let you know he's conning round later, say about, 2 to pick up his things" he smiled weakly
"Ok" I said quietly, and with that Harry was gone and I was alone, with the twins of course, but no Niall. I don't love him, I need to get over him, or do I love him? No, don't be ridiculous, he called the twins problem children. But he did come back for Rosie last night.. And they are a handful.. I just don't know what to think anymore.
