Chapter Five: The Weekend

Amber's P.O.V.

I ate another spoonful of cereal and looked at my phone. Leslie had texted me!

L: Are you sure you want to go to that playdate with those girls?

A: It's whatever. I just don't want to be stuck in the house!

L: It's your choice, but from what you told me, I don't think you can trust them.

A: But honestly, I can get proof to tell that they are bad people!

L: It's whatever you want, Am.

A: Whatever! Can we change the subject!

A: When are you going to come visit?

L: In two days..

A: Awesome! I can't wait to see you! You can finally meet Alexis!

L: Its only been one week of school, and you already trust her that much?

A: Yeah, and I gotta go, cya later Les.

L: Later Am.

I shut off my phone and grabbed my bowl. I had to put it in the sink or Mom would kill me for not cleaning up after myself. I don't know why "accidentally" leaving a bowl on the table is a such a horrible thing that I have to be yelled at for it!

I put my bowl in the sink and walked towards the front door. I'm hoping Mom will let me go, since they probably already started, since I was already five minutes late.

"Mom?"I asked."Can I go to the park with my friends?"

She was occupied with her phone, so this was the perfect chance. She kept playing her game and I let out a little cough.

"Wha-Oh it's fine honey, just remember to come back for lunch,"she said, focusing back on her game."Love you, Lizzy."

I stared at her weirdly and sighed.

"I'm-Nevermind."I shrugged."Love you too."

She nodded and I walked to the door and opened it.

"Hey, Amber, you wanna know something?"Riley asked.

I shrugged and licked my ice cream.

"On the first day school, Alexis told me that you were acting a little strange,"she said, spinning her finger in circles around her head."Why?"

My face got red and I almost chocked on my ice cream. Alexis told her about that?! She told...her?!

"I don't know what you're talking about!"I said."I was perfectly sob-I mean normal!"

She gave me a taunting glance and started to laugh. It sounded a little evil. Ugh! Leslie was right! They are sketchy people! Why am I even here?

"I'm going to the ladies room.."I said, interrupting their laughing."Tell me when Alexis gets here!"

I don't know why she was late. But she was. WAY late. She made me have to have small talk with crazies! Oh god, why has this week been so weird!?

"Ooo!"I heard Riley say."I bets it's that time of the month again!"

I cringed and started running, not looking in front of me. The restrooms better be this way or-

I felt myself fall and suddenly stop. Oh god. I just fell into a boys arms. My mom is gonna kill me.

I looked up and my face turned completely red. He was so cute! He looked down at my face and gave me a cute grin.
