Chapter Eight: Powers

"Lesile is coming today?!" I ask Amber, filled with major anxiety. I mean is it this normal to be nervous?! I mean...what if she hates me, and makes Amber learn to hate me too?! Then, I wouldn't have any friends....or maybe she won't hate me. Why do things like this always make me so NERVOUS?! "Yeah, she's at the airport right now!" Amber responds, I look at her and her eyes are filled with so much joy, as she skips happily. I put on a small smile, attempting shield my nervousness. I mean I'm kinda excited to meet Lesile, but..it's that kind of excited on the first day of school, where your super nervous, yet you kinda excited to know who your classmates are, u know? Oh god, now I'm talking to myself as if my mind was another person! AHHH!!! *Ding!* I jump a little at the sudden sound that snaps me out of my thoughts, and Amber does the same. I look at her, as she reaches into her pocket and pulls out her phone. I look away and return to my thoughts, I hope she's nice...I mean she probably is since Amber's such good friends with her....hmmm, probably. I look up at the sky, and sigh a sigh of relief, losing a slight amount of stress. "You didn't want to look at my texts." Amber says joking, I put on a big fake smile still feeling pretty stressed and say, "I'm not like Joselyn, I mind my own business, " I laugh, either though I'm totally serious about it., I pause and start to be quiet, I noticed Amber is still staring at me, and I sigh looking up at the sky, again, and ask her, "Should we have made them our friends?" She's quiet, I look at her, she looks down and sighs, "Meh! We can be friends....." Amber responds, unsureness in her voice, as she looks in front of her, her eyes squinting and narrowing at our school, as we come closer and closer to it, we walk inside the school, and enter our classroom. Then, all our class gives us disgusted looks, and they all start whispering loudly to eachother. Then one red head, whispershouts, "Why do they even come back to school!?" Clearly wanting the whole class to hear, and it worked the looks got meaner, and the whispering got louder.
"What's going on?!" I ask Amber, who is narrowing her eyes on the redhead, she looks at me and shrugs, looking irratated and confused. "Let's go talk to Riley and Joselyn....", I suggest, as I start walking over to their seats. Amber stops me and warns me, "I have a sneaky suspicion that they have a part... in this, Alexis. I nod at her then say, "I'll just go, then..." as I walk over to a Riley covering her face, fake crying while Joselyn patted her back, acting all sad, while at least five or six girl surrounded them looking sorry for them and either saying, "I'm so sorry..." or "We'll make sure that doesn't happen ever again. I look closely at Riley, and see her hiding a mischievous smirk. I walk up to them, and they all look at me except for Joselyn and Riley hiding their smirks. I open my mouth to day What happened? But I'm quickly cut off by the annoying redhead yelling at me, "Just leave her alone! Can't you see you and that nerd girl have done enough trouble to her already!!" Our class stops whispering and are quiet, staring at me and the girls, and joselyn and Riley. Then, she catches me off guard and pushes me backwards. I hear gasps and snickers, I run back to Amber, as the Whispering starts back up, I feel sad, embarrassed, and very confused. Amber looks at me with worry in her eyes, as she grabs my wrist and says, "Bathroom, now." I can still feel our classmates whispering loudly as we enter the bathroom. "Why was Riley fake crying?!" She asks me, and I remain quiet, not really knowing what to say since I had no clue. I sigh, and whisper weakly, "I'm going to the bathroom..."
I enter the stall and shut the door. I hear the door open the close, it's silent for a while, then I come out of the stall to see Amber gone. I wash my hands, and open to door to leave and go find Ambet, but I'm quickly pushed back in. I fall to the floor, and look up to see the girls, that were comforting the fake crying Riley and fake sad Joselyn. Great....I say sarcasticly in my head, as I stand up. The girls give me disgusted looks, then the redhead girl shouts, "How do you think, you can treat them like that!!" Huh..she must be the leader of the stupid girls, I say I'm my head nor even offended by her yelling at me, I'm mad. "I don't even know what you all are talking about!!!" I shout back. She rolls her eyes, and yells, "Oh shut up! Everyone knows about how you treated those two poor girls yesterday at the park!!!"
"Joselyn, and Riley?! What! Amber and I didn't do anything, their the ones that slapped Amb-" I yell back then I'm cut off by the stupid redhead girl. "YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES THAT SLAPPED POOR RILEY, SO DON'T EVEN TRY TO FRAME THEM, AND SAY YOU TOO EVIL GIRLS ARE INOCCENT!" She yells, loudly. They framed us, Joselyn and Riley did! They lied to the whole class about yesterday! I was about to yell back at them that Amber and I were the ones framed, when one of our girl teachers yell, "Hallway, now!" We all follow her to the hallway, I can feel my other classmates stare at us from the classroom. "Why on Earth are you guys screaming!?" She yells at us. We are all speechless and don't say anything. She rolls her eyes, and yells, "Class, NOW!" We do as told, as we scurry to our classroom, as the teachers yells back to us, "Better not happen again, or you all will be meeting me in detention!" She screams, as she walks away. As soon as we walk into the classroom, everyone starts whispering to eachother, I ignore them all, and walk to my desk, and look around for Amber who is still not in the class. Where is she?! I look around the class again, to the the redhead and her minions sending me death glares, I roll my eyes, and stare at the clock ticking, *tick, tick, tick*
Ambet enters the room as soon as our teacher starts explaining our lesson, she walk over to me andSits at her seat next to me. I sigh, then I rip a page off my composition book, and write "Why did you leave me?!" on it then, i slide it to her. "It was for good information.." She confesses. "But their were girls and they-" I stop myself and don't feel like writing down all the details, and I decide in my head I'll tell her later. "Wait-What did they do?!" Amber asks me. "It's nothing! What information did you get?" I ask, avoiding the topic. "I figured out why our class hates us." She tells me. "Why?" I ask, remembering what the girls saif, but I still wasn't going to bring it up until later. And she told me how Joselyn and Riley had switched around the situation. "That's messed up! But how do we make people believe it's true?" I ask. "I have video proof!" Amber writes down, excitingly. "How..?" I ask her, smiling. "From..." she starts, then pauses, then finishes writing, "a friend..." hmm this is suspicious. "Who? And how do we make all the peopl in the class believe...us?" I ask. "It's just-" she starts but is quickly cut off by an irratated Mr.Kenith that fake coughs, staring at us, his foot tapping on the polished floor. "Are you girls paying attention?" He asks and we nod, Amber takes the paper and quickly rips it up. "Yeah!" Amber and I say at the same time to him. Some of our classmates roll their eyes, or scoff, and turn back to face Mr.Kenith in the front. "They're probably thinking of a plan to slap Riley when they're alone, " a brunette girl states, and I see in the corner of my eye Joselyn and Riley smirk evilly at that. I sigh at Amber then we pay attention to the lesson.

I dodge balls, and throw balls hitting people, I keep an eye out for Amber, though. Suddenly I hear a girl ask next to me, "Are you as good as a sheild as your friend, nerd?" Then, a fall hits her in the face and she falls to the floor, I hold in a laugh, and glance to see a boy using Amber as a sheild!! I run up to him and kick him in the calf, hard! Amber is releasedAnd gives me a high-five before running to the other side of the gym, to pick up a ball, then I feel the boy that used Amber as a sheild say, "You might be a better shield." Before grabbing my shoulders, I see a ball flying to my face, but I quickly elbow him hard, and he releases me, to soon get a ball to the face, haha! I look over at Amber who had two girls hiding behind her, I roll my eyes. "GO AWAY!" Amber yells to them, but they don't budge just as she gets two balls to the face, ouch. The two girl say something I couldn't hear but whatever they said to her made her MAD. She growls loudly, and everyone stars at her confused, and as soon as I hear some people scoff, her body catches on fire, her eyes now red. Whut....?! The two girls that were behind her shriek and run backwards as they almost catch on fire, from being so close to her. Amber grabs a red dodgeball and it immediately catches on fire, as she throws it at the opposite team, they almost catch on fire but the wall is the victim instead, and then soon the ground too, Amber yells something but the sound of people screaming and yelling are too loud. Suddenly all the fire on her vanishes and she almost hits the floor, but a boy catches her. I run to them and grab her away from him, "Who are you?" I ask him, as he looks at me, "Oh. I'm Peyton..Amber's...friend! You must be Alexis!"
He says smiling. "Okay." I say awkwardly and I set Amber against a wall that wasn't on fire then I grab the fire extinguisher, and put out the fire. I run back to an unconscious Amber, I look around to see everything normal all of the sudden. What the.. Then, Peyton say, "I'll take Amber to the nurse, see ya." He says about to take Amber but I
karate-choped his hands away. "I told you I'm her friend." He says to me, rubbing his wrists where I had karate-choped his hands. "I'll going to take her." I state, as I walk way, dragging Amber along with me. "I'll come with you!" He yells to me, catching up with me. I look at him With a serious face, then I say, "Fine.."
He smiles at me, and walks next to me as we drag Amber to the nurse's office.

We enter the nurse's office, and I set her on a bed, as Peyton tells the nurse about how Amber somehow became unconscious. I look at Amber the image of her on fire and floating in the air flashed through my mind. Did that really happen? Or was it just my imagination..I'm so confused. "Ms.Lights, you have a call." The nurse says, I walk over and grab the phone, "hello?" I ask.
"Hey, this is Alexis right?" A girl asks. "Yeah, who's this...?" I ask the girl.
"It's Lesile." Lesile awnsers. "Oh! Hi it's so nice to finally meet you!" I say excited with slight nervousness. "Yeah, it's so great to meet you too! How's Amber doing?" Lesile asks me, slightly worried. "Well she's unconscious right niw, but she didn't get hurt or anything...." I say, remembering Amber in P.E. Peyton walks back to me, "Who is it?" He asks. "A girl named Lesile, she's Amber friend." I say back. "Here, let me talk to her." Peyton says, grabbing the phone out of my hand and walks outside the nurse's office and starts talking. "Amber, Amber!! Come on wake up!" I yell, shaking her shoulders. She flinches, then Peyton comes back in, Amber opens her eyes, and looks at me then behind me, "Amber your awake!!!!" I yell to her, hugging her.
"And apparently nobody remembers you doing that weird thing.." I day smiling. Then she blurts out, "He erased their minds!" Oh..no, this girls losing her mind. "What are you talking about, Amber?!" I say to her looking worried. "Peyton, he-he erased their mind-" she starts but I cut her off. "Peyton? Is that your boyfriend?" I ask her, smirking a little. Amber's face turns a light shade of pink, Oooo! "Wha- NO, of-of course not, Alexis!" She blurts out, "Sure..whatever you say." I respond laughing, "shut up..." she murmurs embarrassed, which makes me stop laughing, "what? Does he not like you back..?" I ask. "Well...it's complicated." She says back, not wanting to talk about it anymore.
