Chapter Ten: Unknown Fevers

Alexis P.O.V

   I'm in my house a lightning storm passing through my neighborhood. I look through the window, laying down on my carpet. I gulp in fear and shock as a lightning bolt shots itself right next to me, as the carpet next to me catches on fire! I stumble backwards, and falk on my bottom, the fire gets bigger and bigger. Loud voices echoing harshly in my head, giving me a horrible headache on the way. The fire surrounds me as I crawl up in a ball and cry.

I jumped up from my bed, drenched in my sweat, panting heavily, my chest going up and down. My eyes agjust to the darkness around me, it hurts my eyes as I stare at the blurry darkness, I feel for my glasses. I grab my glasses, place them on my lap, rub my wet eyes and push my glasses onto my face. I sigh, as I grab my wireless alarm and see its only 5:00a.m. I wipe my forehead of sweat and I notice my heads burning, I take it as I sign I'm too hot and pull my blankets off, and close my eyes.

     I'm awoken to the hot sun shining onto my face, and my alarm beeping wildly, I turn off my alarm. And let my warm feet touch the cold wooden floor, I walk to my bathroom, as I pick out my outfit of shorts, tie-dye  t-shirt, and my teal vans. I walk downstairs, after I grab a pillow, thin blanket, one more outfit, and my bathroom supplies. My hair in a high ponytail, and I changed into my teal glasses instead of my black ones. I look at the time,huh
2:30p.m,I supposed to meet up with Amber and her friend at 3:20. I walk into the kitchen and yell, "Mom?" I walk over to the fridge when she doesn't awnser and see a note on it, I grab it.
It says, "Dear Alexis,Went to take Derrick to his friend's house, and the twins to the park, be back soon,don't have to wait for me to get home, sweetie go to your friend's for the sleepover, love you! Have fun!♡Mom." I smile, then open the fridge. I notice bread then nutella, hmm...seems like a good combination....yum.

I place my bags for the sleepover on the counter and start riding to the café, my mom said she would have my bags at Amber's house before we left from the café.

We leave the café, and Amber's mom picks us up, I put my
Bike in the back of her mom's silver truck, we jump in the car, humming the Selena Gomez 's kill'em with kindness. Wow...I have mind reading powers....that's so cool! I'm gonna read Leslie's mind!!! I think to myself as I concentrate, "Hey....Lesile!" I blurt out to Lesile in her mind, she immediately blocks me out, dang it.....hmm I'm gonna try Amber! I think as I concentrate again, I'm about to day hello to Amber in her mind when I hear her start to talk to herself. "Man..Peyton's a great kisser, I wonder if we'll ever kiss again...?" I hear Amber say in her mind, I decide to shut my mouth and hear more about this...kiss Peyton and Amber had. "Oh no Alexis has mind reading powers!!! What if she's reading my mind right now!" Amber shrieks in her mind, as she glances at me from the corner of her I, I keep staring at the window. "Were you just reading mind..." Amber asks me, her voice having slight embarrassment. "Huh? No...why?" I lie, saving Amber the embarrassment. "Oh..nothing.." Amber says smiling happily as she sighs a sigh of relief. "Few! That was a close one, I better stop talking to myself..." Amber thinks to herself, as I pulled out of her mind, which means she's stopped talking to herself in her mind. "Ahh..I have the most amazing power." I say to myself in my mind, mentally smirking.

"MEATLOAF!!!" Amber's younger sister yells, making me jump a little at the sudden loud noise. Amber's mom passes out the plates of meatloaf, and all three of them including Lesile, Amber, and Lizzy drool as they feast on the meatloaf, I poke at it, remembering the last meatloaf I've eaten which was when I was still living in Germany.

(FLASH BACK STARTS)
I walk into the cafeteria  my two braids on the sides of my head flopping up and down as i skip. I walk into the lunch line, yay! It's meal loaf Monday!!! I grab a tray of meal loaf and look for a seat, I see my best friend Lex waving to me her dirty blonde hair in pigtails, I skip to her them crash into something hard, I fall backwards, my delicious meat loaf falling onto the floor I look up at the person that I crashed into about the say sorry but I'm shocked in fear as I see my bully Drake staring down at me smirking evilly. "Heyy...Alexis you can have MY meat loaf if you...wanttt." Drake says smirking evilly, harshly pulling me up, to meet his cold hearted ice blue eyes. I grab his plate with meat loaf, and start walking to Lex , Drake following closet behind me his evil smirk getting bigger and bigger as we near the table, he brushes his fingers through his black hair as we sit down. "Go ahead Alexis...." He says, I look at Lex her bright green eyes tell me to not eat it, and I gulp. "EAT!" Drake yells to me aggravated, his nostrils flared up. I squeak in fear then stuff a bite of the meatloaf into my small mouth, some of it hangs out of my mouth since I've over estimated the size of a eight year old girl's mouth. Suddenly people surround me laughing and some in disgust, and Drake's laughing evily, I can't believe at the beginning of the year I acually once like him. I quickly realize I can't eat the amount currently in my mouth so I spit it out, I see.........A-A COCKROACH IN THE PILE OF SPIT OUT MEATLOAF!!! I scream in fright but quickly start bawling, a lunch lady runs to me and says, "It's okay sweetie it Was a fake cockroach." The lady assures me but I keep bawling and bawling.
(FLASH BACK ENDS)
"Why aren't you eating?" Amber's mom asks me snapping me out of my deep thoughts.
Oh no! I didn't mean to offend her!! "N-no! I-i was just waiting.." I blurt out then stare at the meatloaf.
   I take a bite, and my mouth immediately gets burst with delicious flavor, YUM!!!
   I shove piece into my mouth, soo...good I mumble to myself, my mouth drooling. I gulp down hard and my mouth immediately craves more! "This is delicious!!!!" I say quickly to Amber's mom, smiling before placing another scrumptious piece of her meatloaf on my plate.

We walk into Amber's bed room and all sit down in a circle including Amber's sister, Lesile has a big grin on her face as Amber sighs almost like she knew what she was going to say. "BOYS!
LET'S TALK ABOUT BOYS!" She screams with excitement eager to know our boy gossip, I immediately go into a quick flash back with my ex-boyfriend Clark back in Germany.
(FLASH BACK STARTS)
I walk to Clark's house as I slowly walk there knowing I had to break the bad news with him, I let out a deep sigh as I ring the doorbell. Clark peeks out the window and once she seems me, he immediately opens to door, smiling at me big with eyes filled with adoreness and care. I sigh loudly not wanting to tell him the bad news as he politely let's me inside his big home. "We need to talk.." I say, avoiding his gorgeous hazel eyes that looked at me with so much care, we sit down on a couch in his living room. "What's wrong?" He ask me, his voice showing me how much he deeply cared for me. I sigh holding back tears, "I-I'm moving..." I say finally having the guts to look him in his eyes as his face shows caring and adoration then depress and sadness on his handsome face ,his light brown hair messy, and his hazel eyes becoming glassy, oh god..why can't you find another job here mum, I think to myself as my eyes also become glassy.
(FLASH BACK ENDS)
I snap back to reality, nudging Amber to tell Lesile about Peyton. Her faces becomes a dark shade of red, "peyton.." Amber says showing off a small smile.
   I look back at Lesile smiling but my smile quickly drops, she looks MAD. Oh..snap does she like Peyton or something, is she...jelous?! I think quickly to myself as I jump into her mind which is blocking me, she yells to me in her head, "stay out of my mind Alexis!!!!" I jump out, looking at her shocked, she was jelous!
  "P-Peyton" Lesile starts but I quickly cut her off, worried she would say something mean like he's mine! Or something like that,which would hurt Amber's relationship with Peyton.I cut her off by saying, "Yeah, when the 'accident' happened he seemed pretty worried about her." I say smiling warming at Amber, ignoring the furious Leslie that looked like she was about to explode. "I'm going to go to the bathroom." Lesile says walking to the bathroom she was probably gonna have a tantrum in, as she slams to door shut. "What accident..?" Lizzy says her eyes wide with curiosity and a pinch of worry. "Amber was on fire but she wasn't hurt, She was flying..." I say to Lizzy smirking then looking at Amber, my smirk drops as I mouth sorry to a very annoyed Amber, she sighs and Lizzy looks happy, a little jelous, and amazed as she looks proudly at her sister, as if she had raised her to have powers. "But Alexis was reading my mind or something!" Amber blurts out, as I look at her with shock, remembering the café incident. We show Lizzy our powers then I feel myself getting more dizzier and dizzier by the second, I faint. I open my eyes to see total darkness, a strong hand quickly moving over my mouth, "I've missed you Alexis.." I hear Clark say in my ear.
