Chapter Fifteen: Seeing Him

Amber P.O.V.

I woke up slowly, looking around. I was back in my old room from when I was a little kid, holding my stuffed pig. Muffled talking could be heard coming from the other side of my bedroom door. As I walked towards it, I could hear the sound of my shouting parents.

"What else have you been lying about, Richard?!"my mom yelled. Dad scoffed and laughed.

"I haven't been lying about anything,"he said."And it's a shame that you think that you thought I did."

I could hear no emotions in his voice. I knew he was hiding somthing. I reached for the doorknob, but was stopped by mom talking.

"I saw you on the news, your face was next to a bunch of pictures with evil criminals,"she said."Was that you, Richard?"

He laughed and his steps got closer to my door. I stepped back and the door opened, greeting me with my dad smiling in my face. I was seven at the time, which meant he was much taller than me, and that made it much more scary. He was always scary to me, like he was hiding somthing huge.

"Now, sweetie-"He said, grabbing for a gun in his pocket. I backed away, worried for my life. He was my father, why was he pulling a gun out at me?!

"Richard Simons, put your hands up!"Police came slamming into the door and held their guns at dad. They looked determined, like they had been looking for him for years.

He backed away, putting his hands up. He smiled at me and started walking to them. One of them flashed red and we're thrown back.

"Daddy, why?!"I screamed. I was crying, bawling my eyes out. He had betrayed me and was doing somthing awful. The area around me caught on fire and he smiled again.

"You have the curse now, Amber."

The cops grabbed him and walked him out of the house. I fell down onto the ground and the fire disappeared.

Mom ran over to me and hugged me. She sighed and held onto me.

"Amber, it'll be OK, don't worry about it,"she sniffed."You're safe."

I heard someone walk up to us and place a hand on my shoulder.

"It's fine, miss, your husband was an evil man,"a cop said, patting my shoulder."He killed four families and was in a group with the biggest criminals in the world!"

He laughed, but quickly coughed to cover it up.

"We need your daughter too.."he whispered, trying not to be rude. Honestly, that was kind of rude. He just had sympathy and now he's telling my mom that they need to take me away..
