Chapter 9 Gardens

That was a tiring game for them and served as their practice. All is breathing hardly, so they go to their headquarters to rest. Some go sleep, some go talking.

"Yara-chan, she's cool. She blocked it without a keshin." Said Tenma.

"I know about a keshin, but that hissatsu might be stronger than us, don't you think captain?" Ibuki added.

"Wait, where is she?"

"She's just sleeping. Let her be, she's exhausted." Tsurugi answered.

"Hm, I see."

Its 5:00, wake up time. Tenma thinks of what can Yara do to hangout.She doesn't want her to get bored in the headquarters now that she was still new in the team. And, as a payback from making them win too. He thought, and knocked to Tsurugi's room.

"Tsurugi, can you do me a favor?"

Tsurugi opened the door, "What is it?"

"I want Yara feel comfortable and at home here in the headquarters. So, I wonder if you can take her around the headquarters?"

"What does that has to do with me? Why don't you do instead?"

"Because you're closer to her and you are her training partner, right? It'll be better if you two got along well together. Plus, it doesn't look like you have a good relationship."

That set Tsurugi thinking. Tenma has a point too I guess.

"I refuse." He said and was about to close the door when Tenma held it.

"Why though? You don't have some things to do at this time!"

"You're doing this for some purpose, are you?"

"Of course! I want everyone to have a harmonic relationship with each other. And you, Tsurugi-kun, you're so unapproachable and cold! Why don't you try to talk with people more?"

"Harmonic relationship my ass. I'm sleeping."

"Hey! Tsurugi-kun! Please!"

Tsurugi closed the door and leaned in it for some time. He's still deciding and its like an angel and a devil stands on his shoulders.

"Go on. Be a nice person to the newbie, so come on! You can do it!" The angel said.

"You're not that type of person that angel says. Ask him to find another to do it and sleep!" The devil on the left said.

He grunted once and the imaginary angel and devil disappeared. He opened the door again and saw Tenma walking away.

"Alright, I'll do it after she wakes up." He said.

Tenma looked back, "Thank you, Tsurugi!"

Tsurugi sighed and went inside his room.

Yara wakes up and Tenma met her. He told about the garden, and maybe became her hangout place.

"Really? Tsurugi will accompany me?" Yara asked.

"Yeah. The gardens are just right there. Tsurugi come on."

"Bah, here it goes." He reluctantly followed.

He just acts like normal while walking with her. Once they reached the garden, Tenma leaves them again.

"Oh, I have some assignments and work plans to do. Enjoy here Yara!" Tenma bade goodbye.

"Bye, captain!" Yara replied, and the sakura trees caught her eyes, "Hm, cherry blossoms! This is fantastic!"

"Never saw a cherry blossom before?"

"Yes. There's some in the portions in US, but there's none in my place."

She picks a flower and put that one in her left ear. She was shy to look to Tsurugi.

"Uhm, H-how's this?" Blood rushed to her cheeks.

Tsurugi blushes as well but smiles, "Beautiful."

Yara looks away to hide her blush. Tsurugi can take her anywhere she likes, since he knew all the parts of the headquarters.

"Where do you want me to take you?"He asked.

"Wait, what's that? Another building?" She pointed on the space at the back.

"That's our back court. We rarely use it since we already have one in the front."

"Can we go in there?"

Once they reached the field, hey played on the back court by shooting and dribbling for a meantime. They also talked to each other too while playing.

"Aw, I thought that your brother is a player too. How was he?"

"He's fine, in our house. Here catch this!" He kicks the ball to her.

Yara wasn't that ready to receive the ball, so the ball went to her face and ended up falling in her butt. Tsurugi gasped and apologized.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I should've asked if you're ready. " He offers his hand to help her get up.

She accepted and held to his hand, "No, no. Its okay. I was just an accident."

"Are you tired? We can go back to the headquarters."

"Can we go back to the garden instead? I like the feeling in there, its so relaxing. The garden in there must be a stress reliever, isn't it?"

"Perhaps."

As they go back to the garden, Yara remembered the touch of Tsurugi's hand. 'It was surprisingly soft...' She thought.

They sat down on the trimmed grass and watched the sun set down the sky, side by side. And in that exact time, their tactician Minaho, sightsees outside with his bestfriend Manabe.

"So the sun will set down maybe at 6:28. What you say?" Manabe said.

"Make it 6:30. Its just 2 minutes." Replied Minaho.

Manabe looked at the other male, "Hey, I need an exact time to predict when will it gonna rise again tomorrow."

Minaho spots Starsight and Tsurugi. He smiled and he'll gonna make a hypothesis about them.

"Hey Manabe, see them?"

"Oh, of course. I just have bad eyesight, but not blind. What's with Tsurugi and Yara?"

Minaho shrugged, "Nothing. Maybe I'll go and make an analysis about their relationship. Wanna join?"

"Hmm, I like what you're thinking.

They observed the two on the nearby window. On the other scene, Tsurugi and Yara continued to tell stories. They paused. Tsurugi put down his hand and accidentally, put his hand down to Yara. She felt it, and blushed intensely. Their minds are almost the same. Their eyes met again, but no for long. Tsurugi releases his hold.

Tsurugi apologized again, "I... I'm sorry, sorry. I didn't mean it..."

Yara stammered, "T-tha-that's okay. T-hat-that means nothing to me r-really. L-Let's just don't mind it..."

The two geniuses saw them through the window.

"Oh my sars. He held her hand?"

"Interesting." Minaho smirked a bit while tapping his chin with his finger.
