Feeding Shiho with water, that’s what the guy was doing. To help her swallow that pill of her that could save her. Indeed, it was more effective than to force her to drink when she couldn’t even open her mouth. The pill worked fast, in a few minutes, her heart was slowly beating towards the normal rate. Shiho managed to calm down but still weak. That guy lifted her up bridal style and seemed to head towards the infirmary. Shiho felt safe with this guy, whoever he was. Without knowing it, she felt asleep on his arms.
Who knows how long she had been asleep but when Shiho woke up, she need to adjust her eyes to the brightness from the open window plus the lighting above.
She got up slowly. “Ugh…” Her head hurt a little, probably because of the impact of falling of the stairs. She only felt it now that her heart beat had calmed down. “… Infirmary?” She recognized the smell of various medicines. A person suddenly appeared to open the white curtain that had been covering her bed from view. “How do you feel now?” it was the sensei that was in charge.
“Ah… I’m alright now… You are?”
“I’m Kobayashi Sawako. You can call me Sawako if you want.” She smiled. Looks like a kind teacher to Shiho.
“Thank you for taking care of me. Are you the one carrying me here?” after she asked the question then she realized, *what a stupid question to ask… It was a guy who carried me here, not a woman! A guy!*
As expected, the answer the sensei gave was, “No, it’s not me… You were already sleeping here when I’m back from my lunch.” She smiled, “You should ask someone to accompany you next time… It’s dangerous to walk around alone when you are not feeling well.”
“Ah… okay.” Shiho answered, didn’t want to complicate the matter any further now that the sensei thought she fainted half way here, which part of it was true. She got down the bed and wore her shoes that were placed beside it. She noticed her box of pills on the side table. *… the content is lesser than before?* She was definitely sure it had more pills before she fainted. Her photographic memory never failed her, even in other senses other than sight. *Does that guy… take them? But he has no reason to…?*
“… Shiho-chan, was it?”
“Ah, yes… how did you know my name?” she asked out of habit since a lot of underground people knew her name without even meeting her. She always asked to satisfy her desire to know, though the reasons were the same most of the time.
She giggled, “Your homeroom teacher informed me just now. You can go back to your class, though it’s already the last period. So you can directly go home if you want.”
“Ah yes… thank you.” She got up and stuffed her pill case into her skirt pocket. But before she even managed to leave the infirmary, a guy entered through the door. “Yo, sensei! Is Shiho-chan here?”
“Yamamoto? What are you doing here?”
“Ah! There you are. Here.” He handed her bag and flute case, “Sensei asked me to deliver this to you. Luckily you are still here.” He smiled. Since the first time Shiho saw him, he always smiled. This made her wonder.
“Thank you.” She got up and left the infirmary with Yamamoto after thanking Sawako-sensei. Yamamoto was excused from the last period so that he could go home with Shiho to ensure she was fine. On the way back home, Shiho realized he was quite an interesting guy. He always thought open-mindedly and didn’t really care about complicated things. His body works better and faster than his mind, it seemed.
“So… you are in baseball club?” Shiho asked as nobody would fail to notice his favorite bat at his side all the time. He nodded his head happily and answered, “Well… baseball is the only thing I’m good at. Talking about club… What club are you going to join?”
