Recover Chapter- Eleven

"Don't say anything embarrassing, rude, stupid, or offensive to him okay? I would actually like to at least stay friends with him." I told Andrew one more time before smoothing out my shirt. I swear if Andrew does anything to screw up my chances with Gavin I will kill him. I want to try my very hardest to just start new again.

"Okay! Stop telling me that, I get it." He confused. The second ring of the doorbell caused butterflies to erupt in my stomach. "Please just don't make it awkward."

"Go get the damn door before I do, and you won't like the way I greet him." I shut my mouth and ran to the door.

I unlocked the door and was met with Gavin's freshly shaved flawless face. He looked relieved to see me. "Hey!" I cheered.

"Hey beautiful." He wrapped his arms around my lower back. "You look really good tonight." He commented. "Thank you.. I apologize for my brother ahead of time.. Don't take anything he says literally." He laughed and entered the house.

He held my hand for the first time while we made our way to the living room to see Andrew.

"Umm.. Andrew, this is Gavin.." I was too scared to say anything else so I let Andrew take over. "Oh so you're the guy who she just can't stop talking about." He chuckled extending his hand out to Gavin.

"I've heard so much about how 'beautifully your green' eyes are." He mimicked my voice making the heat rise to my cheeks.

"I swear those words never came out of my mouth." Gavin laughed and bent his lips to my ear. "Don't worry, flattery will get you everywhere." I laughed and guided him to the kitchen table so he could sit.

"Where's your mom?"

"She's away at a business thing-"

"Yeah so until she gets back, I'm here." Andrew interrupted. He obviously felt like he had to dominate over Gavin. I rolled my eyes and sat down. It just hit me that I'm going to have to eat in front of him.. Maybe I should just skip. But then they will both think something's up. I put a small portion of food on my plate.

"So I guess tell me about yourself." Andrew suggested. "Uh.. Well I'm a senior-" Andrew raised his hand. "You do know my sisters only a junior right?" Gavin nodded. "You're going to be messing around with a fucking minor?" Confused by Andrews reaction, I decided to step in. "Andrew! Nothing's going on between us like that and you know it!" I yelled. Gavin set his hand on top of mine to gesture to calm down.

"I wouldn't do that to her.. She barely lets me hold her hand." He mumbled. I could tell he was trying to be serious, and not funny like he normally is. "Yeah well she has her fucking reasons." Andrew sharpened his tone with Gavin. I huffed. "Andrew! Stop. Why do you have to be such an asshole?" He looked taken back.

"Lexii.. It's okay, calm down." Gavin soothed. It wasn't okay! Andrew was acting like an asshole and I don't know how Gavin can still be here.

"I understand, and respect that.." Gavin said to Andrew. I wondered how patient Gavin could be when my brother was attacking him.

After the tension level calmed down Gavin spoke up. "I actually have three sisters so I understand.." Andrew conversed with Gavin while I put up the left over food.

I went back out to the kitchen and didn't see the boys in there and I panicked. Andrew must have done something. I jogged to the living room and let out the breath I was holding. They were on the couch watching tv. I put my hand on Gavin shoulder to get his attention.

I didn't want to stay out in front of Andrew so I walked him to my room. "I'm really sorry about-"

"No. Don't apologize another time. I said it's fine.. I do the same with my sisters. Relax, it wasn't as bad as you thought it was." He rubbed his hand down my arm.
