Brooke's POV
"Brooke...Brooke...babe," someone keeps trying to wake me from my peaceful sleep.
"Ugh, go away." I groan, turning over facing away from the annoyance.
"Come on babe," it continues with a small chuckle.
I groan again, sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I might have sat up a little too fast. My hands immediately go to massage my temples.
"Did you have too much to drink?" The voice asks. I love how I haven't even looked to see who the voice is. Right now though, I kind of wish it would go away.
"Maybe. Wait, Calum?" I finally have enough strength and got some of the sleep gone, to see Calum with an amused grin.
"Yeah baby, it's me." I stand up, once again an action that happened a little too fast. Luckily, Calum catches me before I hit anything.
"Maybe I had a little more to drink than I thought," I explain and hug him.
"I heard you got your memory back, but you don't want anyone to know right now. At least, that is what Max told me. I haven't told anyone by the way." Calum whispers in my ear.
"Okay, thank you." I whisper back to him.
A throat clearing catches me off guard. Calum plants a small, lingering kiss on my forehead. I missed these feelings Calum gave me before the accident.
After I couldn't remember, he would shy away from touches and kisses. I know he wouldn't make certain moves because he didn't want to push. I am really happy he understood and didn't try to rush me into anything.
Now, I am back to normal and I love that he already is showing his affections the way he did before.
"Luke?" I question confused.
"Hi,"he gives me a small smile and a wave. "I wanted to come with Calum to see how you're doing."
"Actually, I'm glad you did." Now it's Luke's turn to have the confused look. "I wanted to talk to you about something, well two things actually."
"Okay? Do you want to walk to the park and talk?"
"Sounds good," I leave me spot beside Calum to make my way to Luke.
"Wait," Calum calls earning my attention again.
"Yeah?"
"Who is the guy sleeping on your floor?"
Guy? I walk over to the other side of my bed, and find a guy asleep hugging a pillow. The memories from last night flood back into my mind.
"Oh God, I forgot about him."
"Who is him?" Calum asks.
"Luke, do you remember Alex?" I turn back to him. *(guy above is Alex)*
"Yeah, we used to be friends until..." he doesn't finish.
"Well, I ran into him last night at Me....I mean at a party. We talked, he offered me a ride since I had been drinking, and I guess I let him spend the night." I explain to Luke and my confused, and slightly concerned boyfriend.
"I was thinking maybe when he wakes up, you two could talk?" I ask Luke hopeful and with a small smile.
"I don't know Brooke," Luke shakes him head.
"Come on, I know you miss your friend and I know he misses you too Luke."
"Wait, how do you know?"
"Oh well I told you that Alex and I talked last night. He filled me in on what happened. Some girl broke up your friendship." I attempt to cover my tracks easily. Luke can't know that I remember everything just yet.
"Oh yeah, okay. Maybe I will talk to him, but only after you tell me what you need to."
"Okay, deal." Luke and I shake on it.
--
"So what did you want to talk about?" Luke starts after we have been walking in silence for a few minutes.
"How come no one mentioned to me that you and I dated in high school?" Might as well get it out there and in the open.
"What?" Luke coughed clearly surprised.
"I was looking through a box of pictures I found under my bed." I shrug it off like its nothing.
"Look Brooke, I wanted to tell you but at the same time I didn't. I was hoping if you did get your memory back you would maybe forget we ever dated." Luke mumbles the last part, I almost missed it.
"Why?"
"Because we were such good friends, then we dated and it went down hill after. I wanted my best friend back without it being awkward."
"I know what you mean," I tell Luke honestly.
"What?"
"After we broke up, stuff happened and all I wanted to do was tell my best friend, but I couldn't. Even though a part of me kind of hated you, I really did miss you Luke." I notice we stopped walking and turned around to face each other.
Luke takes my hand, his soft blue eyes meeting my green ones. "I know what you mean."
We end up hugging it out and promising to try to get back to being best friends again. I also had to give him a little push back in Alex's direction.
It seems like everything is slowly getting back to normal, and I couldn't be happier at the moment.
