Brooke's POV

Today Calum is going to pick up his band mates and my best friend from the airport. I can't help but to be nervous about seeing them again.

Max seems to think he can help me take my mind off of everything on a day out. I haven't really spent any time with just Max and me. I'm actually looking forward to get back to my normal life, if I can ever get back to it. I'm not as worried like I was before. Let's just see how this day goes...

--

Max doesn't give me a hint on how to dress, so I grab what first catches my eye. I slip on a pair of black shorts that end mid-thigh, a gray Nirvana tee shirt, and my black and white high top converse. I quickly straighten my hair and apply light makeup.

Just as I finish, I hear a knock on the door.

"Hey, you ready to head out?" My brother asks me.

"Yes, just let me grab my phone."

After grabbing my phone, I follow Max out to the rental car we have and we head out to I don't know where. Which is actually bugging me, the not knowing.

"Hey Max," I drag out in an innocent tone.

"I am not telling you where we are going so don't even try." I notice the smile playing on his lips as he glances between me and the road.

"I wasn't..." but I stop myself because he knows me too well.

"Please just a hint?" I ask hoping he will give in.

"What is your favorite animal?"

My favorite animal? What does that have to do with this?

"Um...a penguin but I don't see what this has to do with anything."

Max nods his head to the view up front and see what he is talking about. A smile soon grows on my face.

"Oh my God. An aquarium? We haven't been to one in forever. This one has penguins too."

"Yes I thought this is what... Whoa, wait a minute. When is the last time we went to an aquarium?"

"Probably when I was 10, I remember you making mom get me a stuffed penguin." I explain thinking back on the memory with a small smile on my face.

"Brooke, do you even hear yourself right now?" I give Max a weird look until I realized what he means. "You remember that?"

"I...I guess I do," I shrug my shoulders.

"What else do you remember?" He asks turning some in the seat so he can face me better.

"Just a few things that I get in like flashes of dreams. Nothing much just some here and there." I start to pick at my bracelet because I don't want to be truthful about what I remember right now.

"There is something that you're not telling me." Max says, and he's right.

"I have a question... Did... did dad used to..." I don't finish the sentence, hoping that Max knows what I mean.

"Oh, you remember that? Yes he did." Max looks over out the window and takes a breath before jumping out of the car.

He makes his way to my side and opens the door.

"Come on sis, lets go see the penguins." He gives me a small smile that I return and walk with him to the aquarium.
