♢Chloe's POV♢
I can feel my throat tightening as I sit in my car in front of my best friends house. I don’t really know why it’s happening this time but this is not a good thing. It usually happens only when I’m in a panicky situation where I feel trapped but this time is not.

I press my hand on the middle of the wheel, honking.

"Come on Harper. Hurry up!"

I don’t know why this is making me feel anxious and I can’t stay like this.

"Geez Chloe, why are you in such a rush? It's just another boring school year." She says as she sits down in the passenger seat.

"I know I know, but I don't want to be late since the first day, okay?" I say as I start driving towards the school.

"Anyways, Ethan said we are invited me to a party he is having at his house at the end of this week and you can’t say no.”

Ethan is Harper's boyfriend of '5 beautiful months' as she puts it and also her former crush. Talk about dreams coming true. They started dating in the end of last year.

"I can't. And you know exactly why. My anxiety is getting worst I think so I’m not sure if I could do it." I sigh my eyes glued to the road and feel panicky just thinking about it.

Me going to a party. No fricking way. I would be having a panic attack the first 10 minutes in.

"Please... I'll be with you the entire time. And you need to go out to social events a little more. Please bestie." She gives me the puppy eyes.

"I'm going to think about it. But I won't promise anything." I say as we pull up in the parking lot.

She starts claping in exitment and hugs me.

"OK OK calm down I didn't say I would go."

"Awww come on." She whines.

The school halls are full of students. As we are makeing our way to our lockers we see a crowd of girls giggling and , well, being stupid. They must have sorounded a boy for sure. I know how most of the girls in my school are. As soon as they see a cute new boy they go after him 24/7.

"Who died here?" Harper jokes.

She grabs a random girl and asks her what is going on.

"There is this new boy that transfered to our school and he is so hot." The girl tells us while giggling.

My doubts are confirmed. I roll my eyes and walk away.

"They are so pathetic." I tell Harper.

Someone bumps into us, knocking my bag off my shoulder. I pick up the bag and turn around to see who it was.

“Why am I not surprised it was you Bailey, you little…” Harper starts walking towards her but I stop her.

“It’s not worth it.” I say to calm her down.

“Well hello. I didn’t see you there. It’s like you are invisible. Oh wait, you are in society.” She smiles victoriously as if that affected us.

“You’ll see us when you my fist is in your face.” Harper threatens.

“Come Harper. Let it go.” I drag her away from there.

The first day is going good so far. Me and Harper are sitting at our usual table in the caffeteria when Ethan, Jacob and another guy that I have never seen before sit at our table. Ethan sits near Harper, obviously, and the two other guys near me. I could say I'm a little uncomfortable. See, this anxiety thing makes every social situation 10 times harder and that's one of the reasons that I don't like to go to parties or be around a crowd of people.

The unknown guy, I have to admit, is quite cute, but not my type. To me he just semed bad news and I don't even know why.

He was tall, had beautiful hazel eyes and brown-ish tousled hair, and he was wearing all black. He had a expressionless but still rough look in his face. He catches me staring at him and I turn my head to the other side embarrassed. I run my hand through my long brown hair nervous.

"This is Noah, my childhood friend. We used to live next each other until I moved here and now he moved here as well." Ethan intorduces the new guy to Harper and me.

I stay silent as they continue with their conversations. The new guy, well Noah, didn't speak much either unless the question was directed at him. He stared at me every once and a while and I made me feel even more embarrassed.

I'm getting ready for my last class when I feel someone is behind me. At first I think is Harper and I wonder why she is saying anything. Then I turn around and my eyes meet a pair of beautiful hazel eyes staring into mine.

I'm looking up at Noah. He doesn't say anything at first and I can't move. I could just walk away and leave him there, but my feet refuse to move. I turn my head to the side.

"Your Ethans' friend ,right?" He asks. What does he want from me?

"Umm, no. I'm his girlfriends best friend. My names' Chloe." I say with half a voice. What the hell is wrong with me?!

"Yeah. Nice to meet you. I’ll see you around." He winks at me and walks away.

I'm still standing in my spot dumbfolded. I really don't want to see him around.

I slam the locker dor shut and make my way to my class.

"Please Chloe. Your going to have so much fun." Harper continues to try to convince me to go with her to that party as I pull up in my driveway.

"Please stop talking about it. I'm not going. And I know I won't have fun." I say as we enter my house. Harper is staying over for the night which is going to be bad for me since all she will be talking about is me going to this damn party.

"What are you girls talking about?" My mom asks as soon as we step into the kitchen. She is baking something that smells very nice.

"Hello Mrs.Thompson. I invited Chloe to a party that's being held this weekend and she refuses to go." Harper tells her.

"First please call me Olivia. And second, you have to go sweety. It's just a party. It'll be good for you to have a little more fun." I knew she would say that.

My mom wants me to go to social events more because she belives I'm not social enough. I mean she's right there but I hate parties. They are way to crowded and people don't usualy make the best desicions while at a party.

My mom washes her hands and wipes them in her apron before fixing her beautiful brown hair. That's where I get my brown hair.

"Sweety, I know is hard for you to be around a lot of people you don't know, but try to have a bit of fun. You are a great student and I'm proud of you, but please don't drown yourself in school work all the time. You'll never get these days back and you'll want them back, trust me." She says. She knows about my anxiety, since we tell each other almost everything, and she encourages me to fight it and not let it control my life.

"OK fine. I'll go." I accept sighning.

"Yay." Harper literally jumps up and down in exitment and my mom gives me the biggest smile after kissing my forhead.

"Now seat down." She tells us. "John, lunchs' ready." She calls my dad.

He's been really busy running his company lately. I've seen him only like 5 times in the last week since he is always in his little office at home.

After dinner Harper leaves and I go to change up in my room.

As soon as I drop my bag on the floor mom enters the room before knocking.

“Hey darling. We have new neighboors next door. Did you know?” She asks.

“Really? I hadn’t noticed. Maybe they moved in while we were out.” How come I haven’t noticed?

“I was thinking the same thing. Anyway, I made a cake for them and got some while out of the cupboards. Thought we could welcome them to the neighborhood.” She tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “Want to come with me?”

“Yeah, why not?” I say getting up from the bed and running a hand through my hair taming them a little bit.

We walk out of our house and go next door. I’m holding the cake and mom a bag that has two bottles of wine. She knocks and we wait for someone to answer the door.

A few moments later someone opens the door and the cake almost falls out of my hands.

No way.
