♢Chloe's POV♢
The balcony in my room is my reading place. It's quiet and peaceful. I just sit on a chair and I could read all day if I had the time. The only thing I don't like about it right now it's that it is across Noah's bedroom window.
"Princess?" Noah says from his window. I ignore him.
"Hey, Princess?" Still no answer from me.
"I know you can hear me. Stop ignoring me." Still silent.
"PRINCESS." He yells, scaring me.
"Jesus! Why are you yelling? You're so annoying." I answer.
"My name's not jesus, princess. Is Noah." He is holding his stomach from laughter.
"Glad you find funny the fact that you scared me." I pretend to be annoyed.
"Awe, did I annoy Princess?" He says making a pouty face.
"No, you annoyed Chloe."
"Same thing." He says winking. I roll my eyes. "Can you come down for a second? We need to talk."
"We got nothing to talk about. And besides I'm reading." I say waving the book in the air.
"You can read after you talk to me." He insists. "Please."
My phone rings and I raise a finger signaling Noah to wait a second.
"Hello?" I say to the phone.
"Hey Chloe." I hear Jacob's voice. "Can I ask you a favor?"
"Yeah, sure." I say.
"I'm doing really bad in my Chemistry class and right now I can't do my homework. If I get one more F I'll fail. Could you please tutor me for a couple of days?" I think well before I accept.
Jacob is nicer than the other two, Noah and Ethan that is. He is kinda my friend.
I nod forgetting that he can't see me.
" Y-yeah. Of course."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Why not?"
"Thank you. Are you free right now?" He asks and I remember Noah. I didn't want to talk to him in the first place so I can escape from this.
"Uh-huh. I'm free." I finally say after a bit of silence.
"Okay. I'll see you in the library. Yeah?"
"Yeah, I'm coming. Bye." I say ending the call.
I get up when I hear Noah call me.
"Who was that?" He asks. Why does he need to know?
"Jacob." I say. First I wanted to say it was Harper, but then I thought why should I lie. He's not my boyfriend.
"What did he want?" He sounds angry.
"Tutoring." I answer simply.
"Are you going?" He keep asking so much questions. Stop!
"Yes. Now stop with the questions." I say and stand up from the chair. "Goodbye." I get inside quickly so he can't argue anymore.
I put on a plain gray t-shirt and casual jeans with a pair of white converse. I get my phone and car keys and get out the door telling my mom I'll be at the library.
I get to the library in less than fifteen minutes and get inside. I search around for Jacob and find him in a table near the window. When se notices me approaching he gets up greeting me.
"Thank you so much for coming. You were the only person I could ask for this." He says smiling and we sit down.
"No problem. I'm glad to help you." I smile back.
"Shall we start?" He says.
"Yeah. Let's start." I say and start helping him with his homework. I'm not great at chemistry, who is after all, but his homework is quite easy.
After an hour and a half later full of me trying to help him, laughing with his jokes and him cursing the person who invented school and homework, he finished his homework.
"I don't know what I would've done if you wouldn't have helped me."
"No problem. You can call me anytime that you need help." I give him a warm smile.
"Thanks. Do you need a ride home?" He asks grabbing his stuff.
"No. My car is outside. It's OK." I say grabbing my phone and we walk out of the library together.
"Thank you again." He says stopping in front of me.
"Stop thanking me. It's okay." I smile at him.
"Well, I'll see you at school." He says kissing my cheek.
I blush and hide my face. I know he doesn't see me as anything more than a friend, but still I get embarrassed. The most intimate thing I've ever done with a boy is shake hands or a brief hug so...
"B-bye." I say walking towards my car.
When I get home Noah is leaning on the fence between our houses.
"Where were you?" He asks sounding angry.
"Library." I don't want to talk to him right now and I don't have to tell him anything.
"Doing what?" Ughh. Why do you have to annoy me?!
"You're not my brother to question me so much." I challenge him.
"I want to know." He shrugs casually.
"You don't have to so I'm going now. Good night." I run inside before he can continue questioning me. Why does he care? I'm not his problem.
I change into comfy clothes and grab my phone. I put my earbuds on and listen to music with loud volume. I close my eyes just listen to the sweet sound of music coming from my phone.
Music always makes me feel better when I'm down for, sometimes, no reason or even if there is a reason.
I get the urge to get up and dance when one of my favorite songs at the moment, The sound by The1975, comes on and I do. I remove the earbuds from the phone so the song echoes through the room. I start dancing around also singing the song.
I dance and sing for about two minutes, so half-way through the song, before the song stops for a second to play the sound of an incoming message and then the songs continues.
I grab my phone and look at the screen. It's a text from Noah.
Noah: Are you planning on becoming a dancer? 😏
I look outside the balcony door and see his smug looking face outside his window. Was he watching me?
My face heats up instantly.
Chloe: No. And stop watching me you creep.
Noah: I can't
Chloe: STOP.
Noah: Goodnight Princess 😏
Chloe: goodnight ...
I pause the music and close my balcony door. What's wrong with boys today? Seriously!************************************
