♢Chloe's POV♢

Noah! Noah is my next door neighbor. Seriously?!

“Mom, we have company.” He calls for his mom and then proceeds to not move his eyes away from me.

“Hello.” A tall, beautiful women around her forties comes to the door, Noah’s mom I assume.

“Hi. We stopped by to welcome you to the neighborhood. We live next door.” My mom says.

“Oh. Thank you. Come in.” She steps away from the door so we can walk in.

I hand her the cake and she smiles at me before handing the cake to Noah to take to the kitchen.

Me and mom sit down on the light colored couches of the living room. Another girl, around eight years old, walks in the room and goes near Noah almost hiding behind him.

“I didn’t introduce myself. My name is  Madison and these are my kids, Noah and Annie.” She says pointing at her kids.

“I’m Olivia and this is Chloe.” Mom introduces us.

“Nice to meet you.” Madison smiles at us kindly.

Our moms hit it off immediately.

“I also brought some wine. I don’t know if you consume it but it’s some of the finest. I left it by the door. Could you go and get it sweetie?” She turns to me and I nod getting up and walking towards the front door.

I get the bag and when I turn around to go back I see Noah walking towards me. Not this again.

“When I said I’ll see you around I didn’t know that I’d see you everywhere.” He smiles cockily.

Idiot. “Listen, I don’t know what that was all about back at the school, but it’s not okay.” I say pointing my finger at his chest.

I walk past him not giving him a chance to reply and sit back down on the couch.

"This is bullshit.  Come on." Harper shouts.

"Did a hurricane hit your room? Geez!" Her room is covered by clothes that are scattered all over. It's the day of the party and I just arrived at Harper's house.

"No. I just got nothing to wear." She plops in her bed that is covered with clothes.

"Seriously! You have so many cute clothes to wear." I say picking up a random top.

It's flowy, black and It has white polka dots. It's really cute.

"Why don't you wear this one? I really like it. Pair it with ... these black high-waisted jeans." I love the outfit I picked for her.

She gets up without saying anything and gets a white crop top from her dresser.

She grabs the jeans from me and goes into the bathroom. Seconds later she walks out and is looking gorgeous.

"Thanks! I owe you." She hugs me.

"No problem! You look so good by the way." She picks up the top I had on my hand earlier and hands it to me again.

"You should wear this. It'll look so good on you. With this you'll get so many guys drooling over you." She says with a smirk.

I playfully hit her arm and gape at her.

"Don't say that. I do not want something like that." I say while I grab the top from her. It's a really cute top and It goes perfectly with my light washed jeans.

"Well why not? You're 16 and haven't had your first kiss yet. And It's about time you find a new crush." She knows I hate this conversation but still brings it up every once and a while.

And yes, I haven't had my first kiss yet. Boo-hoo. I don't really care to be honest. I want to wait for a really special person.

"Please drop it. You know I don't like this conversation. And besides you also know how sad I was whenever I saw my old crush with his girlfriend. Crushes just aren't for me." I say as I walk into the bathroom to change my top. The one I'm wearing is nice but I like this one better.

"OK fine. And you look so sexy." She says when I walk out of the bathroom.

"Thanks." I say even though I don't believe it. She is saying that to boost my self confidence.
"How are we going to get to the party?" I ask as she starts to do her make-up.

"Ethan is going to pick us up and drive us back home."

"Ow. So even if I want to leave early I'm stuck there." I sigh.

"If you are not feeling OK during the party we will drive you home early. Don't worry." She says reassuringly. I calm down a bit.

"Are you going to put some make-up on?"

"No, I'm fine."

She doesn't protest thankfully.

A car horn is heard from outside. Our ride is here. When I walk outside there are two cars in front of Harper's house.

"Hey." Ethan greats us and kisses Harper on the cheek. "There is not much room in my car so Chloe is going to go with Noah on his car."

No. No. No.

I don't say that out loud, but just look at Harper silently asking her for help.

"It's OK Chlo.  I'm sorry that I'm letting you go with Noah, since I can see you don’t like him that much, but it's not like he's going to kill you or something." She hugs me and walks towards Ethan’s car.

Yeah, those words just make me feel ten times better, ha? Not!

Since I've got no other choice I walk towards Noah's car and get in without saying anything. He drives off instantly.

He doesn't talk, but turns on the radio where a really loud heavy metal music is playing. I cover my ears with my hands. What the hell!

"Could you please turn it off?" I ask him nicely.

"And listen to what?" The says over the loud music.

My ears are literally going to bleed.

"Anything but heavy metal songs." I shout.

Thankfully he turns the radio off.

"Whatever you want next door neighbor." He says with a smirk on his face.

I roll my eyes at him and just stay silent the rest of the ride.

When we get in I don't see Harper anywhere around. I'm not comfortable and I'm alone at a party.

This is a fricking nightmare.

I spend most of the night either looking at my phone or looking around for Harper.

It's now a bit past midnight. I move closer to the bathroom where the music isn't so loud so I can call Harper and find out where on earth has she gone.

Suddenly a pair of strong arms go around my waist and are swaying me from side to side in a form of dancing, I think. I don't know the guy but he seems very drunk.

I'm instantly nervous and scared. I'm trying to get away from him, but he is much stronger than me.

"You... are so... pretty..." His breath, stinking of alcohol, hits my face. I make a disgusted face and struggle to get away from him.

I feel my chest tightening and tears threaten to fall down my cheeks.

His hands wander off below my waist and by now I'm full on crying. I don't know what to do. Even if I scream for help no one would hear me over the loud music.

I can't breathe properly and I think I'm going to faint.

His hands are yanked away from my body and my back meets the wall behind me as I try to gain my strength back.

I barely see, from my tear filled eyes, Noah punching and kicking the guy until blood is coming out of his nose, and a cut on both, his lip and eyebrow.

Noah looks at me concerned. When he realizes I can't breathe he takes me outside into the fresh air.

I sit on a low brick wall and try to catch my breath. I still can't stop my tears from falling so I just cover my face with my hair and hands.

A pair of hands move my own hands and hair away from my face and wipe my tears. Noah is now kneeling in front of me.

"What happened?" His voice is laced with concern.

"I was trying to find a quieter place to make a phone call and before I realized anything he had his hands all over me." I try to catch my breath again. "I was fighting to get free but It wasn't working. Then, thank god, you came 'cause I don't know what would have happened."

"He was just a horny, shitfaced teenager. Why were you alone in the first place?"

"My friend, I think, was with her boyfriend and I didn't see her at all around so I was trying to call her." I say wiping a few tears from my eyes. "Now I just want to go home. But I don't think I will be able to find her. Ugh, I hate parties with a passion." I say with a sigh.

Noah just smiles at that last sentence. He doesn't smile much, but he really should.

I've finally calmed down and my breathing is back to normal.

"If you need a lift I could drive you home. Besides I've had enough of this party and I'm tired." He says running a hand over his hair making it even messier.

"You don't need to do that. You've done enough for me already. And I thank you so much for that. I don't know how I can make that up to you." I give him a weak smile.

"It's OK. I will think a way for you to repay me though." He winks at me. "Let's just get you home now."

I nod and we get into his car. He is silent and doesn't put any ear bleeding music on. I leave Harper a voicemail letting her know I'm going home.

When we arrive I thank him again and get out of the car. I go straight into my room and change into some comfy PJ's.

I lay on my bed not able to fall asleep until an hour later. I just can't stop thinking about Noah. His concern filled eyes don't leave my mind until I finally fall asleep.
