♢Chloe's POV♢
The moment is ruined, or whatever was going to happen anyway, by Harper barging in and we jump away from each other.
"You missed the best part seriously." Harper squeals. "I could've done much more but Ethan was being a buzz kill." She pouts playfully.
She then stops blabbering and focuses her attention to us.
"Did I interrupt something here?" She waves her hand between us with a smirk on her face.
"No." I shake my head. "What happened?"
"Well. They were stomping their feet annoyed like little brats they are, because of the drinks. Great job by the way Noah." She turns to Noah and then back to me. "They needed someone to get the anger out on and I was right in front of them. Bailey, trying to look tough, runs towards me attempting to punch me or I don't know what, but I held my hand in a punch and she ran right into it. I think I broke her nose. But at least they won't be bothering us anymore since they left defeated with their head low." Harper says very excitedly and proud of herself.
"That's great Harper. Finally they got what they deserved." Noah speaks up as he sees that I'm not intending on doing so.
It's great that Harper finally got revenge on them and enjoyed it, but my mind is a hurricane and I can't focus.
The thought that dances through my head right now is Noah's action. I know it isn't something major, it's normal actually but I can't help to think about the intention behind it or if there even was an intention.
I'm brought back to reality by Harper clapping her hands together.
"I swear I've been wanting to do that since the day she started messing with us." She says looking so victorious.
"Me too Harp." I say, finally speaking. "Glad one of us had the courage to do it."
Harper eyes me suspiciously. "What are you on about?"
"Nothing. Never mind." I dismiss it.
"Okay then. I'm getting back to the party and leaving you two alone." She winks at me and shuts the door behind her after leaving.
I roll my eyes and focus my gaze on my nails. Noah stays quiet as well, lost on his own thoughts.
After a bit of silence Noah breaks it turning to me.
"I didn't want to ask you earlier, but I want to know something." Noah starts and I already know what he want to know.
"About what Bailey said about me obsessing over her 'boyfriend'?" I ask making air quotes.
Noah nods. I take a deep breath and start to explain the lies she told.
"First of all she manipulated the truth and told lies. Just wanted that to be out of the way. Look, first year of high school I had a stupid crush on this guy. Turns out that Bailey had her eye on him first and wanted me out of the way since she was almost getting him to be her boyfriend. I didn't listen to her. Harper encouraged me to go after what I want since I was even more shy and it was the first time that I had admitted something like that. The guy stared to notice me and Bailey got so jealous. To get his attention back she started telling him that I was a freak and he shouldn't even talk to me, basically making me look bad. Then she offered to sleep with him I think and that was it. Bailey dated him and hated me ever since." I say and sigh afterwards.
"That is pretty messed up."
"Yeah. I'm over it and now realize it was a stupid crush that should have never happened in the first place, but Bailey isn't. She won't forget it for some reason. And conflicts don't really help my anxiety."
