"Yoongi-hyung...W-What's going on-...?" Taehyung didn't even finish his sentence as Yoongi pulled him by the arm around the corner of the café.
"Okay, whatever happened yesterday with you and Seokjin-" Yoongi sighed cutting himself off. "I know it's difficult for you, everything with Seokjin..." Yoongi's eyes flickered back to the café to see Seokjin, sat checking his phone beneath the table for the third time since he and Namjoon arrived. "Look: Do you like him?" Yoongi asked.
"Well... Erm..." Taehyung's head dropped, a silence growing between them.
"Look Tae, you know I love you but Jin's a nice fucking guy. You can't mess with him like this." Yoongi accused. "If you love him, you've gotta tell him."
"'Love'..." He repeated with a sigh. "It's not like I have a problem with him, I mean..." Taehyung paused, collecting his thoughts. "Of course I love him, but, I-I don't know if I love him like how... he wants me to. I just don't feel..." Taehyung bit his lip, his hand gripping at the fabric of his shirt on his chest. A thick silence grew between the two. The eerie quiet was unfamiliar, almost as if there were a barrier between them. Yoongi paused, one question resting on his lips.
"Do you like Hoseok?"
Taehyung's breath hitched in his throat, gulping.
His gaze fell to the floor, flickering between Yoongi and retracting just as quickly as they met.
"No..." He barely spoke, his voice quiet.
"Tae," Yoongi stepped forward, pointing to his shirt. "Who's shirt is that?"
Taehyung bit his lip.
"When was the last time you stayed home for a full-day after lectures?"
Silence. "Taehyung..." He crooned.
"Fine." Taehyung uttered, barely above a whisper. "I like Hoseok..." Taehyung muttered, the words falling off of his tongue in a jumble of lettering. Yoongi smiled gently at the other. "Jin won't ever forget this will he...?" Taehyung stated guiltily, weakly.
"Well..." Yoongi stared back over through the glass window of the café over the cars. Taehyung followed his gaze, noticing Seokjin sitting opposite Namjoon.
Seokjin anxiously stared down beneath the table, fumbling with the phone in his hands. Namjoon's eyebrow furrowed, taking in Seokjin's expression. He looked beneath the table, his face falling. Seokjin noticed and weakly smiled back.
Taehyung winced his eyes; Namjoon's mouth moved as to say something to Seokjin, reaching to hold his hand. Seokjin gasped looking down at his hand wrapped in Namjoon's. Namjoon smiled at Seokjin, conveying that he was there for him, a sense of care in his eyes. Seokjin smiled, intertwining their fingers together, locking the phone and placing it onto the table. "...just give him some time." Yoongi commented.
"They look good together." Taehyung remarked, watching the two smile at each other sweetly. Yoongi hummed, nodding in agreement. "I better go." Taehyung announced suddenly.
"Oh?" Yoongi piped up, finally acknowledging his coffee that was in his hand, reaching it up to his lips. Taehyung smiled weakly up at Yoongi, his hands finding their way into his pockets.
"See you later, hyung."
"Bye, Tae." He smiled, his eyes following Taehyung as he slipped away around the corner. Yoongi took another sip of his drink. "Ah, kids these days..."
Taehyung's voice rang in the distance: "Hyung, I heard that!"
Yoongi smirked, hearing the voice slowly fading away into the distance along with the sound of hurried footsteps. With a final glance back to the café, Yoongi pulled out his phone.
Jimin 🍑: hey don't forget to buy me some popcorn on the way back, love you x
Yoongi smiled at the message as he began to walk away.
