Lucifer looked at me and I turned to walk away but he pulled me back and picked me up bridal style. Within a blink of an eye, I looked around to see we were outside under the stars. "Put me down," I said, smacking his chest.

"Can't. There's no ground," he smirked. I looked below us to see the water crashing against the rocks.

"Now you can't run and you have to listen," he stated.

"Really? Who said I had to listen," I said, covering my ear.

He looked at me amused then lightened his grip on me causing me to wrap my arms around his neck. He lifted me up in his arms and frowned. "Just hear me out. That's all I'm asking," he begged.

"Fine," I gave up.

A smile was then placed on his face, "Let us start from the beginning. I did have another date but it was nothing serious. She was just a girl I would take to events like these. I cancelled on her and decided to take you since it was going to be our last few days together. I didn't mean for today to go like this," he said looking at me.

"Anyways, when I went to get my tux, I ran into some trouble with certain people and I got mad at my guys for not taking care of the problem. I ended up lashing out on you when you didn't want to go. I always have to show up at these events since I was the number one trader and shipper in the market. I was just mad at my men and I didn't want anything else to go wrong. My anger also went with me in the car. I didn't mean anything I said. I was actually really happy I took you to be honest," he stated.

"The kiss was just to impress. I swear to you on that. Tiffany also happened to be my ex-partner. We used to work together but she was difficult to work with for two reasons. One is I'm the Devil and my men aren't human and the second reason is her being full of shit. I'd rather walk into a church than work with her again," he scoffed.

"She's that bad?"

"You have no idea. I didn't tell you about me because I saw what you do. You're the angel of me and yes, I'm aware that sounds corny. I didn't want to disappoint you and I thought you would stop liking me if I told you. I also don't tell you things about me to keep you safe. That's why I also can't have any contact with you. I'm becoming more and more of a target for people and I can't have you with me," he said leaning his forehead on the side of my forehead.

"I love you and I want you safe," he whispered.

I was finally understanding why he stood his distance from me. "I'm sorry," he whispered.

I let his words sink in then let out a small sigh. "I forgive you," I mumbled. I watched as his face lit up in happiness. He leaned in close and I pushed him back. "You are not kissing me when smut slobbered all over you," I said in a gross voice.

"Right. Forgot," he said, releasing his grip on me. I tightened my hold around his neck in horror of being dropped. He then looked at me in confusion then realized. "You do know we're on the ground now right?" he asked.

I looked around to see we were near his car. "What? When did we get here?" I asked as I was set down on the ground.

"When I started to explain. It was kind of amused you didn't know," he snickered. I rolled my eyes and got in the passenger seat. Lucifer closed the door and then hopped in the driver's seat. He started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. We drove home in complete silence. I was lost in thoughts. Still had so many questions yet no full explanation would be given.

The car came to a stop and I looked out the window to see we were in front of the house. The door then opened and I looked up to see Lucifer holding out a hand for me. I grabbed his hand and he helped me out of the car. We walked up to the entrance and I opened the door to see Gabe waiting stilling near the bar. He turned his head towards me and then sent glares at Lucifer.
