Seth's POV
Ashlynne's been acting wierd. She's doing alot of things like it's the last time she'll ever do them. Example, we went to our special place yesterday.
When we were little, Ashlynne and I wereawesome swimmers, better than the rest, so we went exploring one time and found this awesome cave that closed with the tide. It was incredible, with bejeweled walls surrounding it. Since then, it's been our special place.
She looked around with a sad smile and walked around, running her fingers over every rock wall. She told me it was because of memories, and I believe her, but... She's acting like she's never going to see it again.
In two days, Sam and Emily are FINALLY getting married. Ashlynne and the Elementalists are the music providers for the wedding. She's really excited that the two asked her to sing. Negative point: I'm going to be sitting as one of the groomsmen while she's in the choir loft. Positive point: Embry's in the same boat as me.
Right now, I'm sitting on the living room couch, Ashlynne asleep in my arms. She's so peaceful and beautiful when she sleeps. It's not that she's not beautiful when she's awake, it's just that she's only peaceful when she's asleep. She's normally violent, headstrong, outspoken, ready to pick a fight, and winning. In other words, perfect.
I smiled down at my sleeping angel, brushing her black bangs out of her closed eyes. She hasn't been getting much sleep lately, what with the wedding, and the Elementalists, and the pack... and me. I picked her up princess style and carried her upstairs to her room. I was careful not to hit her head on a door or the railing. I lay down on the bed with her curled up in my arms. Suddenly, she shot up.
"Stupid idiot, gets himself into so many random situations..." she muttered loudly. "Hello, Seth, I have to go rescue my idiot of a best friend who is caught between lemmings and a cliff. How on EARTH he did that, I have no idea, but NOW, I have to go get him because he has no gift for cliff diving and/or flying without a bungee cord." She rambled on, completely oblivious to the fact I had been watching her sleep. "Stupid idiot, uses the mindlink only when he's been a complete and utter useless..." She pulled two sheathed daggers out of her underwear drawer, still muttering about Russell, it sounded like.
"Seriously? Of all the drawers you have, you hide your dagger in THAT one?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow. She looked at me.
"That's one of the two drawers I go into every day. So I know where they are every day," she said, as if she made perfect sense. To her, it probably does.
"Be careful, beautiful," I told her, kissing her cheek as she headed for the door.
"Yeah, yeah, don't wait up," she smiled, waving her hand at me. She stepped up onto the windowsill, and with a smile and an air kiss, she leapt into the air and disappeared into the night.
I sat back on the bed and put my arms behind my head, smiling at her antics. This reminded me of the conversation with Jake that had been cut off by a wolf cry. We both had to go out the window and shift really fast. I never got to tell him why I didn't want kids with Ashlynne!
One, I wanted her to myself for a few years. Two, I don't think we're ready to be parents. I mean, I can't imagine mini-Ashlynnes running around. I can barely handle the one flying out the window!
I fell asleep somewhere around two, and I woke up when I felt Ashlynne come back and lay down. All in all, I have the perfect girl and the perfect life as a werewolf. :)
