Seth's POV

"Why are we following YOU, again?" Jake asked Zane, as we traipsed silently through the forest. Russell looked at Zane coldly, behind his back. We were all getting bad vibes off of him now.

We had split into teams to find the nest, where the Werebane were being created and kept. The children were safe at Billy's, under several shields and protection barriers.

Ashlynne, on the other hand, was roaming about with Leah, Stella, and Lilly, also trying to find it. Shouldn't be that hard to find, you know, with huge cartilage-bodied creatures that eat supernatural children doing the interior decorating.

Zane's head snapped up. "I sense a negative energy. Come on, this way," he gestured, walking into the more dense part of the forest, with more trees and less light.

"Figures the Werebane would pick the darkest of the dark places to set up camp," Russell muttered to Jake and I, as we trudged along after Zane, side-by-side.

"Ashlynne said they like the dark," I muttered back. "Should've been the most obvious place." Zane stopped short and we all ran into him. He turned towards us slowly.

"Sorry, boys, but we're here," Zane said, an evil smile creeping onto his face.

"What are you talking about, Zane?" I asked impatiently, thinking he was joking. I was dead wrong.

"Seth, look out!" I heard Jake yell before something hit me in the back of the head really hard and everything faded to black.

Russell's POV

I didn't see the Werebane creep up behind Seth until Jake shouted a warning. He went down like a sack of potatoes, out cold.

I sensed one behind me and made the earth open and swallow it. One down, two hundred ninety nine to go...

"Jake, I can't hold 'em!" I yelled to the russet wolf who now stood majestically beside me. I think he shredded his pants. I hope he brought an extra set, 'cause, no offense to him, that is not something I want to see. Ever.

Jake jumped a few, tore out a few throats, and they crumbled into dust after I drew the Prophecy Child's symbol on each corpse.

I turned once more to see Jake had been overtaken. "Ooo, that's not good," I swore, taking out a few more before I was knocked unconcious.

Leah's POV

I felt Russell slip out of consciousness.

"Ashlynne!" I cried out, turning to her, fearfully. I had waited so long to find my mate, and now he was in the hands of the enemy, defenseless.

"I know, Leah. It's time to head out," she replied, brushing her black hair over her shoulder. We had been walking through the woods, waiting for Ash's signal. Lilly strung her bow, preparing for battle.

"I just hope we aren't too late," Stella mumbled through her bangs.

Seth's POV

I woke up about an hour ago in a steel barred cage, hanging a good fifteen feet off of the ground. Jake and Russell were in similar conditions on either side of me.

"Welcome back to reality, Seth!" I heard Zane's voice cry gleefully. I turned to find the source.

"Zane, when I get out of here...!" I swore at him. He held up a hand.

"Uh Uh Uh, Wolf Boy! That cage? Yeah, not steel. It's a metal that can reduce your power. It can kill an Elementalist like myself. Oh, and like Russell, over there!" He said cheerily. I looked at Russell a little more scrutinizingly. He looked grey.

"That is my sister's mate, you...!" One of the Werebane rattled my prison, throwing me to the wall.

"Now, now, calm down, Wolf Boy! He has to die, he's to close to my little Firecracker," Zane said, as if he made perfect sense. "You, too, but I want to make sure you die in agony. How dare you imprint on my mate?" He shouted, enraged.

"And how dare you kidnap mine?!" A familiar voice pierced the thick darkness from the trees. I looked at Russell who gave a small smile.

"Who is that?!" Zane yelled. My sister leapt down from a tree and landed right in front of him.

"Your worst nightmare," she said. Then she punched him in the nose. I heard a sickening, yet strangely satisfying, crack.

"Ugh, my face!" Zane yelled, cupping his probably broken nose. "Werebane, attack!" She danced among them tauntingly, distracting them all.

And THAT'S when I saw her. She jumped onto Russell's cage and, even though it looked like it was killing her, she tore open the door and pulled him out. Using her air powers, I assumed, she lifted them both into the air and floated them to the safety of the trees, where Russell was quickly regaining his strength.

Then she retrieved Jake, who looked a bit beaten down himself. I guess they bad fought a bit when I was out... Suddenly she was reaching through the open door for my hand. I grabbed it and she flew me to the trees.

All of this occurred and Zane didn't notice at all. He's kinda dense... Ashlynne looked at me apologetically.

"Do not believe a word of what I'm about to say," she instructed me, floating above Zane's group of Werebane. I was a little wary about what she was going to do.

"Yo, Zane!" She yelled, landing on a branch in sight of him. "If you call off the Werebane and send them back, I'll be yours." There was a collective gasp from the bystanders, Zane, and, ironically, myself.

"What?" Zane asked, dazed.

"You heard me! I'll be yours! I swear on my Knights' honor that if you send back the Werebane and CHILL OUT, I'll be yours. Forever," she said, looking at him honestly.

"That's unbreakable to use your Knight's honor," Russell whispered to me sadly. "She's seriously doing this."

I looked at the silhouette of the girl I loved, staring down her enemy while I remained useless. Was this how it was supposed to end?
