Seth's POV

"Ashlynne!" I yelled desperately, my voice rough with emotion. She looked at me with strained eyes.

The Werebane were slowly crawling up the trees towards us, but I was oblivious. That was MY mate, promising herself to someone else for MY safety.

"Do you swear by your Knight's Honor that you will do as I ask?" Ashlynne asked him ceremoniously.

"I swear, on my Knight's Honor, bestowed upon me by the Goddess..." he started speaking, but was interrupted by a flash of light. His eyes widened, in panic and recognition.

Suddenly, a beautiful girl appeared in white, regally adorned in gold battle armor. She held a gold-hilted crystal sword at her side.

"You have no honor," she said quietly, though it echoed over the expanse of the witnesses. With those words, she plunged her sword into the villain's heart, killing him instantly.

His body erupted into a small mountain of glitter dust, and the girl gestured with her hand, magically scooping it into the jar she held firmly. The Werebane, along with their summoner, disappeared.

We were slowly lifted out of the trees by an unseen force, controlled by this girl in white, to be landed gently on the ground. My knees wobbled weakly, but I stood anyway, my eyes locked on my mate. She knelt reverently on one knee before the girl, speaking words I couldn't hear.

She stood as the girl spoke back, meeting her eyes and nodding. The girl disappeared in the same flash of light she had arrived in.

Ashlynne came toward me, looking at the ground guiltily. "I'm sorry, Seth...." she began, looking up earnestly with her bright green eyes.

I cut her off by thrusting my lips against hers. We both pulled away, breathless, after a minute. I wrapped my arms around her small frame and pulled her as close to me as I could.

"Don't EVER do that to me again, Beautiful," I whispered into her hair. She shook her head furiously as I pulled her closer.

"Never again," she promised. Then I did something I knew she wasn't expecting. I pulled a small ring out of my pocket, adorned with a small obsidian stone shaped like a five-petaled flower.

"Ashlynne Iridessa Black, before we both end up injured or worse, will you marry me?" I asked exasperatedly. Her smile lit up her face like the sun at dawn.

"Yes, I'll marry you Seth Clearwater," she said, looking directly into my eyes. I slid the ring onto her finger and leapt up, spinning her around, whooping excitedly. Our friends cheered and Russell made it rain flower petals from the nearby trees.

"I love you, Beautiful," I told her honestly.

"I love you, too."

Ashlynne's POV

We all went home, a bit battle-weary. The quads were waiting at the door as we walked in: Nate and Bella jumping to Seth, Sarah and Lilly running to me.

"Mommy!"

"Sarah!"

"Mommy!"

"Bella!"

"Daddy!"

"Daddy?" I stopped short and looked at my son, who had somehow ended up on Seth's shoulders. Lilly, sucking her thumb and holding Bunny, her white stuffed rabbit, was holding my left hand. Bella was gripping Seth's leg like a lifeline. Sarah was standing in front of me, smiling happily.

"EH, might as well start calling him that now," I told them. They all got really excited and dog-piled Seth, who fell backwards over the back of my Dad's couch, laughing.

Dad wheeled himself out of the kitchen and came to a stop beside me.

"He asked me, you know," he said as we watched my family giggling and laughing. "Thought he was gonna be too scared to ask you, actually," he continued thoughtfully. I glared at him, trying to hide a smile.

"Daddy, it all came together," I told him quietly, sitting gently on his blanketed lap.

"You know, that's exactly what Jake said when he figured things out with Lilly," my dad said.

"What happened with Lilly?"

"Long story. Don't ask," he responded with a twinkle in his eye.

"Daddy, will you give me away?"

"Ofcourse, Princess! Ofcourse!"
