Seth's POV

"Hi...?" I said, my voice coming across as a question. "You've been gone for a good four years, and all you you've got is 'Hi'?" I wanted to laugh and I wanted to cry. I looked at the shifter kid who looked really oddly familiar.

"Hey, kiddo, I'm sorry I almost plowed through you. I thought you were a bear cub," I apologized, shaking the hand of the wide-eyed child. "I'm Seth, what's your name?" The kid lit up like a Christmas tree at the fact that I wanted to know.

"I'm Jacob Nathaniel Black-Clearwater," he said with precision. "Mommy cawlls me Nate." My eyes shot up in shock to Ashlynne's face when I heard his last name. Her eyes didn't meet mine at first, but she looked eventually.

"He's mine," she whispered so Nate wouldn't hear. "And he's kinda yours, too." My face went pale as stone. Almost as pale as the Cullens. Ashlynne looked at me like she had been expecting a different reaction.

"You mean, I'm the father?" I asked at the same volume. She nodded, answering my question, still looking like she had been waiting for something to happen. By now, the pack had all shifted and they were coming to greet Ash.

Well, Jake looked like he was coming to strangle Ash. Maybe that's why the kid (my kid?) crouched into a protective stance infront of his mother.

"Down't touch my mowmmy!" He shouted, his face turning red with anger. Ashlynne picked him up and held him close to her. He put his arms around her neck, and was listening intently to what she was saying. "So theyw're awll nice?" Ash nodded, a smile gracing the beautiful face I had missed so much. Nate shrugged. "Owkay, Mowmmy, I'wll pway nice. But if theyw're mean to you, I'm gonna shiwft and pwotect you," he said with a final tone to his voice. Inside, pride welled for my son. He was already acting like a werewolf. None of my emotions showed on my face, though. Ashlynne might be my mate, but she left and took my most precious unborn child with her. It would take a LOT to gain back the trust we had.

"Alright, then. Boys, play nice," Ash told the wolves, her smile still clearly visible. Jake grumbled something about speaking for herself, and then we were all walking towards Billy's house.

Billy was holding a beautiful little blonde girl, Rosalie was laughing with a little brown haired girl, the color of my hair, actually, almost black. A third girl with black hair came up to Ashlynne, who knelt down and pressed her forehead to the girl's.

"Seth, I see you've found my daughter!" Billy chortled, the blonde girl smiling shyly into her stuffed rabbit. "Wonderful what time gives us, isn't it?" I looked at my mate who by now was standing, holding our son on her hip and the little girl's hand in her own.

My heart was wrenched out of my chest by the weariness in her eyes. Having to take care of our son by herself must have been hard on her. I was about to open my mouth and say, "I still love you", but my son had something important to say.

"Seth, these awre my siwsters!" Nate called excitedly. "That's Sawrah, that's Bella, and that's Lilly," he pointed to the black haired girl, the brown haired girl, and the blonde haired girl in turn. I glanced at Ashlynne in shock. She blushed a deep shade of red and nodded, answering my unasked question.

We had quadruplets?!!!

"Only four, right? No more hiding in the car?" I asked sarcastically. Nate bristled, hearing the forced hostility in my voice. Ashlynne shook her head, ignoring it.

"No, the only thing hiding in the car is..." She stopped and gasped in horror. "MAX!" She ran to open the truck door and a huge, grey and white dog ambled out onto the grass. "I am so sorry, Max! I didn't mean to forget you in the car! Well, you were sleeping, but..." The dog barked impatiently and jumped up on her, licking her face. "Alright, alright, you forgive me, I get it! Good boy!" Ashlynne praised him as he sat down patiently on his haunches, waiting for a command. "Go check that the horses are here." The dog ran off, with speed like the wind was at his heels.

"By the way, this is my home, now. You are all welcome anytime," Ashlynne told us. We all nodded, but inside, my wolf was furious. 'Her home isn't here, her home is with me!' Shut up, you stupid wolf! "Alright, kids, you can go play in Grandpa Billy's yard. But STAY INSIDE THE FENCE, okay?"

Bella immediately ran into the yard, with Nate not far behind. Lilly, still with Billy, looked at her mother, shy infront of all of the people now surrounding her. Ashlynne picked her up and set her on the ground, and she ran into the yard, stuffed rabbit trailing behind. Sarah followed, as if she was shepherding them.

"Renesme, can you go watch them, please?" Rosalie asked worriedly. The Cullens seemed quite taken with my kids, especially the Ice Queen, Rosalie. Like the good niece she is, Nessie nodded and followed the four into the yard. Immediately, I turned to Ashlynne.

"Explain."

Ashlynne's POV

I took a deep, shaky breath. "Okay, I can't teach Nate anything about being a Werewolf, plus if you were right four years ago and I gave a prophecy, I've got a gut feeling it's gonna come true soon," I rushed, knowing they all heard me with their extra sensitive hearing.

Leah, ignoring what I said, jumped on me. "Oooooof!" My knees buckled, but I stayed standing. "Was that necessary, Leah?" She just grinned. "Where's everyone else?" Right then, Luke pulled up in the driveway on the opposite side of my house. They had bought the smaller house with a smaller yard, but we were gonna knock out the fence to make it one big yard.

"Sorry, Gwen got sick so we had to pull over," Luke apologized, helping his pregnant wife out of the car and into the house. Leah was there in seconds helping the kids out. "Where are the quads?" I nodded my head towards my Dad's yard, and Luke shooed his daughters inside the fence limits. "Where's everyone else?"

"You know, that's exactly what I said," I told Luke with a smile. Suddenly, a truck pulled up and the rest of the crew piled out. Luke and I immediately went to embrace Russell and Stella, but both of them were being trailed by small children.

Russell turned around and picked up the kid, who I assumed was his son, Seth. Embry, who had been standing with the pack, went to greet his girlfriend and pick up the other boy, who was probably their son, Quinn.

While everyone was assimilating and greeting each other, I looked around. Beyond the green grass of our lawns, upon which we happened to be standing, there was sand. Sand and water. I remember crashing numerous bonfires on that beach, when the sky was dark with night. Right now, though, the sky was a light blue, clear of clouds, not at all foreshadowing the events of the future.
