what should've happened... Jacob and Bella's love story

First Signs

December 28th (3 days after Christmas Day) 

I wake up around 2 pm, which is super late. But I have nothing to do today. Newton's is closed for the rest of the week. It opens back up on the third of the new year. So I'm officially free to do whatever I want... that involves Jacob... because lets be for real: I don't do anything without him now. Don't take me wrong, we aren't that couple that can't do things without each other but it seems wrong because me and Jacob now make up one whole. So i get dressed, kiss Charlie on the cheek and make my way down to the reserve. 

I walk into Jacob's place without knocking and see Billy watching an old game. He waves at me and I walk over and give him a kiss on the cheek. It makes me happy to know that he is still wearing my shabby necklace. I haven't taken his off, though. Along with the necklace, the ring now has a permanent placement on my finger. I even sleep with it on. I walk into Jacob's small room, only to see him laying on his back in deep sleep. I wonder how late he had to run last night. I walk over to him and literally just lay on top of him. He stirs a little, opens his eyes and smiles when he sees me. I tell him to keep sleeping and he wraps his arms around me and we both fall asleep again. 

Two hours later, it takes 20 minutes to wake Jacob up. Once he's up, he can't seem to take his hands off of me, not that I mind. We eat our very late lunch together and head over to the garage. Quil and Embry come over and we all chill and talk for a while. I notice the dark bags underneath all of their eyes, but don't mention it. Its their duty to protect their people. And not sleep while doing it... I add on internally. The boys get hungry and I order a pizza. The pizza arrives and just like any other day, the boys let me grab two pieces before they lunge in and fight for the last piece, but today was different. Before the boys were able to finish the pizza, a very loud howl pierced through the sky. The howl wasn't a normal howl though, it was a warning. The guys stood up very fast and immediately aged 20 years. These guys weren't the teenagers fighting over pizza, they were now middle aged men, ripe and ready for war. 

Jacob quickly told Quil and Embry to phase and told them to let Sam know that he was taking me to Emily's before he phased. They agreed and ran outside, I heard a quick shred and knew they were not human anymore. Jacob lifted me up in one fluid motion and took me to the motorcycle. We put on Charlie's gift and we were on our way in the blink of an eye. Once we got to Emily's, he lifted me up again and ran me inside to where Emily was waiting with a look of pure terror on her face. I could bet one hundred dollars that mine was the same. She and I hated it when the pack was out fighting, and we dreaded it even more when howls like those run through our grounds. Jacob told me he loved me and I said the same to him. He bent down and placed a fierce kiss on my lips that ended all too soon. Before I knew it, Jacob was running out the door and I heard a low but recognizable shred. 

"What happened?" I asked Emily once we were alone.

"I don't know. All I know is that that howl was not a joke, Bella, this is the real deal. And they aren't playing games." Emily responded with a grave look on her face. 

We sank into a tense silence and waited for our boys to return home. 

--- Two horrible hours later.

The pack came rushing into the house. Jacob immediately found me and quickly placed me by his side; almost exactly the same thing Sam did with Emily. They all looked tense and worried. Everyone kept looking at me and I immediately knew. Vampire. 

"What happened?" I asked, my voice sounding small.

They all turned to look at me. Sam looked at Emily first and then forced his eyes to look at me. In his eyes I saw an internal battle of what to tell me and what to not. 

"Tell me." I demanded, my voice growing bigger. "I loved a vampire, sure,-" I saw Jacob flinch. "-but that doesn't mean Im breakable, Sam. Tell me."

He eventually decided to tell me. He opened his lips and what came out, I wasn't expecting. 

"A vampire came onto our lands today. A new vampire, a scent we do not know. She was one of the fastest vampires I have ever seen. And she managed to keep evading our efforts to kill her. I don't know what she is, but she is not a normal vampire. Seth was the one who smelled her first, and also the first to spot her. He let out the warning howl. We managed to push her out of our lands but she kept turning around as if she was hunting for something. She has special capabilities. Every time she wanted to pass through us, I felt like I should let her. I knew it wasn't me feeling that but she still tried, over and over again. It took all we had to chase her away, but she will be back. No doubt about that." Sam concluded. 

I already knew who she was but I couldn't believe that she would still want me after all this time. I was scared, no doubt about that, but I was more scared for the pack. They might have fought vampires, but ones like her? I was sure they haven't. I looked around and thought about the undeniable war ahead. I also thought about who was going to survive it and who wasn't...

oh my God! Guess who's back???  

Bella is now standing up to Sam, hasn't she always bee scared of him? This is the new and improved Bella. 

The vampire Sam was talking about is who you think it is but not as you originally thought. She is now special. With abilities you never knew she had.
