December 29th (same day as last chapter.)

Jacob and I woke up with a start after hearing another warning howl. Not even two hours has past since we fell asleep. Since my betrayal. I forced that thought out of my head and focused on the matter at hand. Jacob grabbed my hand and pulled me outside. He dragged me out of the house and we walked quickely to the nearest cover of trees, where we couldnt be seen. I saw a big black wolf and immediately knew it was Sam. Jacob turned me around and I heard the familiar sound of somone phasing. Once I knew Sam had pants on I turned around.

"What happened Sam?" I asked, scared.

"There is a vampire at the edge of the treaty line asking to speak with you. He says his name is Laurent. Is he the same Laurent in your story?" Sam asked.

"Yes he is. I do know him. He used to be in Jame's coven. I met him when he was with Victoria and James. I didnt mention it because he warned the Cullens and I of  James' tracking abilities. He left them when it got dirty. When James began his frenzy to kill me. He is dangerous, no doubt about that. But if he is here asking to talk, then that is all he will do." I answered.

"I dont like it." Jacob said.

"Neither do I. We will five of us next to you at all times during this exchange, Bella." Sam said.

"The more the merrier." I said.

They looked at me funny and then they phased. Once a wolf, Jacob bent down slightly, allowing me to get on top of him. I grabbed two handfuls of his fur and we were off, following Sam. The closer we got, the more tension grew into Jacobs body. Once we made it to the clearing, I laid my eyes on Laurent. He has been the first vampire I have seen in over a year. Their beauty never seizes to amaze me. I shivered only slightly when I made eye contact with those glowing red eyes. I slid off Jacob and walked towards him, all five werewolves on full alert. Im sure they had the rest of the pack running around the reserve just in case this was a diversion. Adrenaline pumped through me, filling me with confidence I knew I didnt have.

"Ah, Bella. So nice to see you again." He began, with a smile on his lips.

"Laurent, always a pleasure." I answered, a small smile playing on my lips. As much as I didnt want to admit it, seeing a vampire put me slightly at ease. It was familiar.

Jacob let out a snarl. I turned my body around, taking my eyes off of Laurent and looked at Jacobs big body.

"Enough Jacob. " I said, giving him a long glare before turning back to Laurent.

"Well Bella, I knew you were reckless enough to love a vampire, but now werewolves. I must say for a human, I am impressed." He spoke casually, like he was catching up with an old friend.

"I am a magnet for  dangerous creatures apparently. However, Laurent, I am surprised that you still do Victoria's bidding. I would have thought, after all this time, that you werent her pet anymore. " I said flatly.

"Debts are debts. Victoria saved me from a painful death once and I owe her favors for a century." He answered with a hint of malice.

"Get on with it then. Formalities are over, what does she want? " I asked.

"Simple. You dead. A mate for a mate. You know our rules well and know vampires well enough to know we are very stubborn. Especially when it comes to revenge-

"What did she want you to tell me, Laurent? Im done with your long speeches, and I am actually quite bored." I said interrupting him.

He hissed at my rudeness and that earned five growls. He looked around and decided, wisely, to get to the point.
