Chapter Three
TouchdownLeslie
I stood in my mirror, dancing to "My Boo" by Ghost Town DJs in nothing but my bra and panties. I love old school music. 80s and 90s music is the best.
Lyla walked into the room. "Really? Hurry up! The game starts in a hour."
Lyla was a cheer leader for the Pensacola high school Tigers. She looked cute in her maroon, white, and gold uniform. Since it was the last football game of the season, I had to be there.
"I'm getting there, give me fifteen minutes."
Lyla sighed and laid down on the bed. I slipped on a pair of ripped jeans, a long sleeve, blue Jordan shirt, and my black UGG boots. I grabbed my black jacket from the closet and pulled it on. I put my hair into a high bun and put on my gold hoops.
"Are you ready?" I asked Lyla.
"Yes, it's about time." She sat up. "You look good by the way."
"Well, thank you." I blushed
I grabbed my purse, phone, and keys, Lyla and I left the house. I stopped by my mom's house to make sure she was okay and then I picked up Emily.
"I'll see y'all after the game." Lyla yelled out as she ran onto the field.
Emily and I found a seat in the bleachers. We've been friends since my freshman year in high school. And good friends. Emily is always there when I need her. No matter what. And for that, I'll give her anything in return. I love her to pieces. She has long, blonde hair, pretty gray eyes, and flawless skin.
"What's been up with you girl?" Emily asked, looking at me with curiosity in her eyes.
"Nothing much." I shrugged. "What about you?"
"The usual. Work, work, work, every day of the week." She sighed. "We have got to start spending more time together."
"I'm glad you said that. Do you wanna go to an all black party this Saturday? Jamal asked if I would bring you."
Emily mentally rolled her eyes and I laughed. "You know I will. But tell your cousin fine self to stay away from me. I'll slice his throat trying to play with me."
I laughed. "You know he's not going to listen."
Soon, the game started. I couldn't get over how cute Lyla looked in her uniform. Her and Jake was back together, which was not very surprising. He played wide receiver on the football team.
"Whasup Leslie."
I looked back to see Lamar staring me dead in the eyes. I turned back around without saying another word. I was so tired of seeing his pitiful face.
"Lamar, don't you get it?" Emily threw up her hands dramatically. "Read my lips. She. Don't. Want. You."
Lamar looked as if he was about to say something, but decided against it. He got up and walked away.
I gave my attention to the game. I had no idea what was going on until someone made a touchdown. Just like most games of the season, they lost. But I must say they played an awesome game. The score was 28 to 21.
Lyla told me that she was riding with Alex , so Emily and I left.
"Do you wanna go stepping?" Emily asked cheerfully.
Oh God. "Sure, let's go."
Sometimes Emily goes to a bar where the white, country folks line dance. They wear cowboy boots, jeans, platted shirts, and cowboy hats. My first time going with her was two months prior, and I enjoyed myself. Though it took me a while to learn the moves. I felt a bit out of place but everyone there was nice.

"You looked good out there girl! Don't think you're grown." I told my little sister Tia.
"Thank you." She smiled, showing her dimples. "I'm going out to eat with the team. I'll see you later." She kissed my cheek and ran off.
Biologically, Tia isn't my real sister but in my heart she is. Theo and Sophia also adopted her. She's a beautiful girl and I love her to death. I'll drop any guy on their head about her and literally take a bullet for her.
"Yo! T!" I looked around to find Jamal waving his hand.
I went to his car which is what he was leaning on.
"Whasup Jay." I gave him dap.
"What's good." He took another of from the cigarillo. "You going to the party this weekend right?"
"I'm thinking about it." I leaned against his car.
"So, I have this cousin." Jamal looked at me, wiggling his eyebrows.
I laughed. "Ahh, here you go. You stay trying to put me on some that's not worth cuffing."
"Trust me," he placed his hand on my shoulder, "my cousin is totally different. You gon' like her. Just be at the party Saturday ugly ass dude."
"A'ight man, I'll be there."
After leaving the school, I stopped by my parent's house to get something to eat. I could smell food from outside. One thing my mom know how to do is cook.
I went into the kitchen. My mom was sitting at the table, scanning through a magazine. "Hey beautiful."
She looked up and took off her glasses. "Hey handsome." She stood up and hugged me. "Your plate is in the microwave."
I grabbed the plate from the microwave and sat down next to her. "Where's pops?"
"He's asleep. He had to work a double today."
"Oh okay." I nodded. "I'm sorry about walking out the other day like that ma. I just don't wanna see her. Ever."
My mom grabbed my hands, something she always do. "Okay baby. I'll respect your wishes and leave it at that. I love you baby."
"I love you more ma." I kissed her hand.
