I didn’t believe my ears. Is heather using Austin to get her scholarship? Oh my god! I stormed into the room. “Are you using Austin for the engineering scholarship?” I asked screaming in her face. “Oh see whose come!” she smiled, it was more of a wicked grin. “So you’ve over heard me and I suppose you’ve understood my means of coming here. Look Cameron I’ve always dreamt of this scholarship-“ she said but I cut her off” so did I and Austin heather, we have been waiting for this since seventh grade  and we promised each other that it will be us who are going to get it-“ “ but nothing like that is going to happen dear Cameron. If you go tell Austin right now he won’t believe you at all. I’ve nearly fulfilled my plan Cameron and no one can stop me now, not even you.  She said and walked off pushing me.

I still couldn’t believe heather turned out to be this person. Ithas been Austin’s dream to get that scholarship. I wouldn’t let it go just like that. I had to do something. The next day I went to Austin,” Austin? I gotta tell you something”,saying this I grabbed him to the basketball court. Heather came following him. “ Austin heather wants to get the scholarship so she’s trying to keep you away from your studies trust me Austin, she doesn’t love you she’s cheating on you- she wants to get that scholarship” I said. “Candy what the hell? Do you even know what you’re blabbering? That’s my girlfriend you’re talking about” he said trying to defend her. “Austin I’m not lying please believe me.” I tried to explain.

“Oh shut up candy I don’t believe you, why are you doing this to her she’s so nice to you.” He asked.

So you choose your girlfriend over your best friend?” I asked. “Yeah because I can’t trust you any more candy. You told me that my girlfriend is cheating on me and she’s doing all of this to get the scholarship? I never knew you were so jealous of her” he said literally screaming onto me. “That’s because it is the truth Austin” “- no that’s because you don’t want heather to be my girlfriend you wanna be my girlfriend.” he cut me off “no Austin-“I tried to explain.”- No candy. Don’t deny derrick had told me about it and I didn’t believe him. I never knew you would go to such an extent.It’s all over. I don’t wanna talk to you, in fact I don’t wanna see your face” that was enough to make me cry. I could see heather smiling from behind. This was it; it was all over -a 15 year old friendship turned out to be smoke in minutes. I ran back to my hostel room crying hard. I wanted to die at that moment; I tried to control all my feelings- at least to help him get that scholarship he dreamt of. I had a plan. It would risk my career but it was worth it. I called up Aunt Kelly and asked her if the fashion designing training was still available for me in England she said she knew I would choose it so she had already booked my flight back to England and the training seat was reserved for me. I never wanted to go for it but it was for the person I loved. Worth it. I studied hard the whole night until I was all done.
