DERRICK’S P.O.V

“But what about the dinner party I arranged for all of us” I said. But before that I saw Austin already had reached his room. I really didn’t want to bother him. But I called up Lilly and candy for dinner tonight and they agreed to come. As for Austin, he’s hurt he’ll be over it after a long time so I think I should let him be.  I started arranging stuff for the dinner tonight. The girls would be coming by 8:15 so I had enough time to set things up.

Later I showered and waited for the girls to come but I saw Austin come down. He was all dressed up. I didn’t know he would be coming for dinner too. “Uh… derrick I’m heading to the club just to spend some time alone-please don’t stay awake for me I have the keys” he didn’t stay to hear my reply- just grabbed his car keys. In two minutes he came back saying his car tires were flattered so he’ll be going by a cab to the club. “Oh by the way what’s the name of the club?” I asked. “Black woods” came the reply. He grabbed his wallet and went away.The girls arrived ten minutes later- just after Austin left. “Each of them gave me a hug. I saw candy a bit worried,” hey don’t worry I’m not such a bad cook- dinner’s nice” I joked and she smiled.  Lilly and I were chatting with candy as we had our starters –French fries. While Lilly and I were having a talk candy said she will prepare a delicious cake. She stayed in the kitchen for quite a while and then returned back she said the cake was ready, “okbefore attacking the cake why don’t we have dinner first?” I suggested. And they agreed. I saw candy’s eyes wandering around in search of someone- of course Austin. She came to know that I understood that she was searching for him. “Where’s he? “She asked concerned. “Don’t worry candy; he said he needed some time alone so he’s gone to the club”. Candy widened her eyes at me “to the club?” “-yeah” I replied. “oh god which club is it derrick?” she asked getting worried. “Uh…. Black woods. candy tell me what happened” “derrick you should’ve known that, he’ll get so drunk that he’ll fall sick the next day he does that every time he gets upset derrick why did you let him go?” she asked grabbing her coat and car keys ”I’m so sorry candy I totally forgot about that. I didn’t want to bother him because he was upset” I tried to explain.” its ok derr, there’s no problem I’ll go get him how did he go by car?-““nope cab he had his tiers flattered’ I replied. “I’m sorry guys but just have you’re dinner I’ll be there ok?” she said as she raced out of the house.

CAMERON’S P.O.V

OH GOD! I’m so worried about Austin. I shouldn’t have said that. I tried my best to reach the club at the earliest. When I entered the club I saw him- he was so drunk and to add a cherry on top he had been gulping down bottles of alcohol down his throat. I quickly ran to him and stopped him by pulling the bottle away from him. ”that’s enough Austin let’s get you home you’re drunk” I said grabbing him by his arm. “Why do you care” he said pushing me away. “Because I do ok now shut up and let’s go”. I put his arm around my shoulders and I put my hands around his wait so that he wouldn’t collapse. I managed to get him to my car. I drove him home where derrick and Lily were waiting for me. “oh my god’ Lilly gasped as derrick help me get him into his room. Derrick laid him on his bed. “I should’ve known this would happen” derrick said. “It’s ok derrick he’ll be fine and I think you guys should go sleep. I’ll stay up.” “No we’ll stay up with you” Lilly protested. “No Lilly he’ll be ok I’m here to help him out I promise. If there’s any problem I’ll call you guys ok?” after a long debate I convinced them to go to sleep as I stayed up. I switched off the lights and sat next to Austin. He kept rolling around the bed the whole night and I stayed up all night just to see if he needed something.

The next day when he finally woke up I made him drink lemonade because that would make his head feel a little light. I touched his forehead to check if he had fever and I guessed it right. I handed him some capsules which would help him get over it. Derrick and Lilly came in to check on him after they woke up. They were relieved to find out that he was feeling much better than last night. Austin and I didn’t speak anything since last night. Not even a word yet.But I made sure I was of some help to him. Finally Lilly came up to me and said, “cammy I think you should sleep now take some rest. You’ve stayed awake the whole night for Austin now just go take some rest.” Austin was on the bed. Hestared at Lilly and asked,” she stayed up all night for me?” he asked her, “of course she did. You know what? You had such a bad fever and she made you feel much better than the condition you were in before” she told him. He looked at me straight away. “I think I should leave it to you now” Lilly said as she walked out of the room. “you shouldn’t have stayed awake for me’’ he said breaking the silence between us, “Why are you bothering to care for the person you don’t even love- just go from here” he said seeing there was no reply from me. “Shut up Austin” I said not wanting to hear those things from him as I was peacefully reading a novel. “Why should I?-and why the hell did you stay up all night for the person you don’t even have feelings for?” he said. It was really catching my nerves. “Austin how about you shut your mouth and sit there” I asked angrily which made him to get up from his bed as he was leaving the room I saw his phone ring..”  I love you sooooooooo much and I love you endlessly Austin. I just don’t want to hurt you I wanna keep loving you every single second of my life” it said and I recognized that voice- Omigosh! It was me- I was drunk. Oh god! That recording repeated twice and I stared at Austin. “Shit!” he murmured under his breath and quickly came running. He picked up the call and said,” Derrick? -What is wrong with you? You’re just down in the living room aren’t you? Couldn’t you come up and talk?” he asked and then he waited for a while and ended the phone saying “ok”. I was still staring at him. “That was me wasn’t it?” I asked literally wanting to stab him. “Derrick and Lilly are out and they won’t return home soon so he said not to worry about them” he said trying to change the topic.
