Chapter Three

CHERYL

Waking up next to TJ is awesome. We are trying to pat down a routine. He has a full schedule. On Mondays and Wednesdays he goes out to our members homes. Sometimes it just to touch base and see how they are doing or sometimes they request him to come and pray. He does a lot of counselling. So I have to help schedule that during the week. He also goes into the local hospitals, old age homes and orphanages to pray. Sometimes he just goes to give a word of encouragement. I have been going with him over the last three months.

Being a Pastor is a fulltime job. He gets called out sometime late at night. I admire him. He never turns anyone down unless he really cannot make it. We have been married now for two weeks and one day.

"Baby doll, I know this is last minute but I would like to pop in and see Carol before she leaves."

"Ok. I will give her a quick call and let her know that we are coming over."

"Thank you. I just have some paper work to complete. Ask her if thirty minutes from now will be fine?"

I nod and then call Carol. She is wonderful person. I have had the privilege of meeting her several months ago. She lives two streets away from us. She is taking up a job offer in London. She leaves tonight. She is like an angel. She is always ready to help anyone in need. I met her cousin Rose and her children yesterday. They were a little skittish but I don't blame them. It's a new home and new school and from what I understand first time in church.

"Baby doll."

"Hmm."

"Where were you?"

"Sorry I was deep in thought."

"Yes. I could see that. Are you ok?"

"Yes. I am fine. Was just thinking about Rose."

"I see. Anything you want to share?"

"No. Carol said she is available."

"That's great. Are you ready to leave or do you need to change or anything?"

"Do I look like I need to change?"

"No baby doll. I was just checking. You know how woman can be."

"Oh. Sorry. I am not used to this. I am ready."

We arrive at Carols home and as usual we are welcome in. It's just after two and Rose's children are home.

"Please have a seat. I have the coffee machine on."

"Thank you, Carol." TJ says.

"Are you all packed up and ready to leave?" I ask.

"Yes. I am. I must admit I am so glad that you have decided to stop by."

"How could I not stop by? You are apart of GM's (Grace Ministries) family. We will miss you terribly. We hope that you will keep in touch and let us know how you are doing." TJ says.

"Oh I most definitely will. I hope by the time I am back that there will be either a little Taylor or Cheryl around." Carol says looking at me.

"I don't know. I suppose if it happens it happens." I shrug. I feel a little faint. Come to think of it, TJ and I never discuss children. I am not sure I want any.

"Is Rose available? We would love to talk to her and her children." TJ asks.

"Yes. Let me get them for you." Carol says as she hands us coffee.
