Chapter Thirteen

CHERYL

God moved. He was in the midst of their prayer and he blew life into what was dead and he changed mind sets, he softened hearts, he started the process of healing and deliverance in each heart. He ministered and he gave hope.

As the weeks went by the spirit of God was greatly manifested at the women's meeting and the ladies testified that even when they were alone in prayer they felt his presence and heard his voice. Many lives began to change. God started a revival in every home but it started first with each lady.

You see sometimes not every mountain is from the devil, sometime God uses the mountain to change us. The way we think, the way we act. He wrapped his loved around these women and showed them that his Grace is sufficient for them. Too often we find that we condemn ourselves and we get stuck in that place unable to move. It's a terrible feeling. It makes you feel physically ill but God promises us that it is finished, he took on our burdens he took on our iniquities he bore it all on the cross. His blood has washed away your sin it is no more. You are worthy of his love, mercy and grace because he say so not because of our works.

Today I need to tell the ladies about the second half of my life.

"Wow, what an amazing God we serve. Angels bow before him and cry holy holy holy. We are so blessed with his presence not just here but in our lives. He has done a new work in us we will never be the same. I look at each lady here and I see the light of God. I see women that were broken, shattered, confused, lost, hurting and go through trials, through tribulations and today you are on your road of healing, restoration and oneness with God. Everyone of you have been elevated to another level with God. Weekly I am awed by the testimonies of what God is doing in your lives, in your homes, in your marriage and with your children.

We have come so far but we so much more ground to cover. There is a revival in our homes and now we need to start bringing in others. We need to go out there and testify to what God has done. We need to help one another. If you have a friend or family member that you know needs help, please bring them to our next meeting. We need to make our circle bigger. We need to share the love, the freedom and goodness of Jesus."

The ladies agree and I continue.

"The last time I shared my life I told you about my mother and the neglect. I told you about the foster homes and the abuse and the rape. I felt so worthless. The doctors told me due to the trauma of the rape I might never have children. I was so young. I started to hate the world and hate myself. When I met Mimi I was out on the streets, by that time I had no self worth and no desire to live. I was in such a bad place. Ladies I did what I had too to get buy. There were days that I didn't get a meal and I had no place to bathe.

I was thin and I looked disgusting. I met TJ around the same time that Mimi offered for me to stay at her loft above the restaurant. I couldn't understand why in the world would he even come and talk to me. We both were young and he was so handsome. He was clean and healthy yet he stopped by and handed me a cup of coffee and my favourite pastries from Mimi's.

He continued to come by every fort night for a year. He was just being a friend or so he said. His family ran a soup kitchen a few blocks away on a Wednesday. So every Wednesday I would go hoping to see him but it didn't work out that way because he was busy with studies so I would wait for our fort night meeting.

He was so kind to me and he was genuinely interested in me and not what services I could render. Around the same time Mimi was getting tougher with me. She was more persistent and more hopeful.
