Chapter Four

The other two teams did the same. We are all from different faiths, different nationalities but we came together and made it happen. The students weren't convinced some questioned him and he answered the best he could. One had asked. 'So you saying if we don't pray or believe in God then we are doomed and heading for failure?'

'No that is not what I am saying. All that I am saying is my belief in my God has brought me to this place. Many people succeed because they believe in themselves. How many can say the same. When you have faith that God all powerful all mighty is working behind the scenes making ways for you, it gives you hope. It's easy to give up. As a man it's easy to become weary but when you have God it feels like you can walk on water. This exercise is merely to teach you that it is not easy out there, however if you push forward and don't give up. You can and you will succeed. How you do that is up to you. My motivation and my help come from God. I am not ashamed of that.'

He arranged for a little get away for the teams that had completed the assignment. The girls threw themselves unashamedly at him. He always politely turned them down. He spent time chatting to everyone and even me when he could. I always admired him from afar. Tall and well built with chocolate brown hair and matching eye colour. On the day that we were to drive back to the city, he asked me to ride with him.

I agreed. We spoke about everything from our parents to our sibling's right down to our favourite movies. I remember thinking how perfect he seemed. Weeks later and my mind still burned with the memory of him. We bumped into each other randomly at a star bucks. He insisted on buying me coffee and then insisted we sit down and have it. He invited me to have dinner with him and I accepted. We continued to see each other. I even went to work with him. We worked long days and nights to get where we are today. I don't regret a thing. I loved him from the moment I laid eyes on him.

He thinks that if I quit work and take more time to relax that we will conceive. I have been told that stress is not good for you especially when trying to get pregnant. So I have decided that I will stay at home. Maybe Cheryl might need me for something so that I won't be totally bored. I will have to ask her tomorrow.

"Good morning sweet heart."

"Morning. What time is it?"

"It's nine."

"What! Why did you let me sleep in?"

"You never sleep in. I thought maybe you weren't feeling well."

"Oh. I am fine. I was just a little tired."

"So you saying that I tired you out last night?" he says smiling. I take the pillow and hit him with it. He grabs out of my hand and then pins me down. With one knee he spreads my legs as his lips descend on mine. I love waking up this way.

ROSE

Mimi is an old lady. She was married to her childhood sweetheart. He died during the war. Sadly she never remarried and never had children. She say's the diner is her baby. With her getting older it is becoming more challenging to keep it going. I work here for just two hours. I make sure that all the admin is correct and I assist her with whatever she needs. She is a lovely old lady.

The kids really seem to have adapted to their new home and school. They actually have taken to church and Sunday school too. I heard Matt sing last night and it brought tears to my eyes. He is really good. I remember a time when that was me. I sigh. It seems like a life time ago. I haven't sung since my mother's death. I'm not sure if I still can.

"Come Rosie."

"Yes, Ms Mimi."

"I want you to take this."
