Luke
Just under an hour later, we were climbing out of the hot tub as giggles escaped our lips, Calum reaching out for my hand as we stumbled out of the water.
Immediately, my hand guided his back to rest against the patio door and my lips connected with his in desperation for something we couldn't have. Gently, his fingers trailed down my chest before going to rest on my waist, leaving my skin tingling at his every touch.
"We can't," I rushed out against his lips, but the words lacked conviction and Calum knew this as his eyes lit up like fire, a moan falling from his mouth as my hands traced up his bare thigh.
I knew that I should stop this, I knew I had to stop this, but I couldn't, and I knew Calum wouldn't either.
--
The next morning, Calum's sleepy eyes fluttered open in front of mine and his lips melted into a heart stopping smile.
"Morning, gorgeous." I mumbled as he pulled me in for a kiss, and at that moment, everything seemed perfect.
A smirk playing on his lips, he pulled the white duvet up over our heads and rolled over so he lay on top of me, eyes batting innocently at me. I couldn't help but think that this is what I wanted to see every morning for the rest of my life as his body lay against mine and our lips moulded once again.
"I think we should get up," Calum spoke a few minutes later. Swinging his legs over the side, he stood up and sashayed over to the door, sending me a quick wink and the words "Why don't you take a picture?"
I lay back on the bed, embarrassed, as his footsteps descended down the stairs. I collected my phone from my jeans pocket where I had tossed them on the floor last night, and my eyes widened.
I had forgotten about Michael again! Jake was going to hate me.
Hurriedly, I pulled on yesterday's clothes and dashed down the stairs with the key to the house in my hand, bumping into Calum in the hallway.
"Hey, I'm so so sorry, but I have to go. Emergency." I gestured to the front door, almost yanking it off of its hinges at the same time.
"Is everything oka-" he began to speak, but I cut him off quickly.
"Here's the keys, I love you." I pressed a quick kiss to his lips before running out the door, missing the look of shock on his face from my last three words which I hadn't realised had slipped out.
--
My legs broke out into a run as I made my way down the road and towards the woods. Jake had messaged me 20 minutes ago, saying he had woken up and Michael was gone, and since Jake wasn't a vampire he would never catch Michael alone.
Whereas I could - I had created him and so I knew his scent stronger than anyone else. I already knew that something had gone wrong, and I wasn't looking forward to finding out what, especially when it involved a newly created vampire.
It was inevitable what had happened, but I didn't want to think about it just yet.I didn't have time to waste, so I haphazardly decided to cut through the werewolves territory, hoping they wouldn't be there to stop me. I didn't have time to have a 'civilised' conversation with Ashton about whether or not I was a threat to his pack mate. I wasn't sure it was me who was the threat anymore.
As I crunched through the fallen leaves, I caught scent of Michael, and groaned. I didn't want to deal with this and I didn't want it to be my responsibility, especially when I could've been back at the house with Calum, watching him move around the house in only his boxers.
However, I had to deal with this and so I kept moving in hopes that it would be over quickly and I could get back to the probably very confused Calum who was waiting for me. Not likely, but I could only hope.
Appearing near to a clearing, I stood quietly behind a tree as I realised the full extent of what was happening.
In the clearing was the pack of werewolves, but unfortunately they weren't alone. They were furious, lashing their claws as they got nearer to the boy in the centre of the circle - Michael. His eyes were a fierce, burning red as he looked up from the body laying next to his crouched figure, his fangs bared towards the werewolves.
"Don't hurt her!" He growled, his eyes warily searching the group around him.
A girl with pale skin and deep black hair was sprawled over the forest floor, her short white dress spread out around her legs. Michael's hand ran through her long hair as her eyes began to flicker, arm cradling the prominent bite mark on her collarbone.
As one of the wolves begun to move forward towards the red headed boy, I moved to block the hit as fast as I could, appearing in the centre of the clearing with everyone else.
"Stop!" I roared, stood angrily in front of both of the newborn vampires.
One of the wolves behind growled, before turning back into human form, the others following suit. Ashton stepped forward, glaring at me.
"Luke." He all but spat at me, and I smiled bitterly in return.
"Nice to see you all," I spoke, my voice laced with sarcasm, before I turned to Michael who was stood, slightly calmer, behind me. "What the hell are you doing?" I grinded out angrily, grabbing his shoulder and pulling him up from the floor.
He looked guilt ridden, just as I had the night I had bitten him. I sighed.
"She was about to kill herself! She was wobbling about by the edge of that cliff behind us, and I spoke to her but she wasn't giving in. It was a split second decision. Please." Michael pleaded with me, eyes wide, and I knew it was the right choice for him to make. But the wolves would never believe that.
"Okay, okay. Get her up, and I want you to go straight back to Jake. Got it?"
Michael nodded quickly, hauling the girl off of the floor and running off in the direction of the town.
I ran a hand through my hair as I began to walk off, hoping that the angry group behind me wouldn't notice, but of course they did.
All air was knocked out of me as Ashtons wolf formed landed on top of me, and I groaned in pain, my back having landed in a twisted position.
He morphed back into himself, panting heavily as he stood above me.
"Explain, or you're dead."
