Calum

The pack and I sauntered into school, the strong smell of lynx following us. It was unbelievable that nobody had picked up on us yet; we had the typical werewolf appearance. Our leather jackets smelt of a night in the forest and our hair all had the same rough and messy look to it.

Not to brag, but the attention we got when we turned up for school everyday was undeniably enjoyable. All the girls would sigh and toss their hair, or walk to close to us to try and get noticed. We just smiled, walking on; we weren't interested because we knew it wasn't safe.

'Calum, stop.' I looked around, before coming to a stop at the top of the stairs. I turned to look at the others who were waiting beside me on the top step, raising an eyebrow inquisitively at Ashton. What was all the fuss about? 'Do you smell that?'

I registered the looks of disgust on their faces, showing something was quite clearly wrong. Closing my eyes, I inhaled deeply. And they were right, an unfamiliar smell filled my nostrils making me wince.

'What is that?' I hissed, retreating down the steps in attempt to find fresh air. But they were just as confused as me, standing in a huddle with their hands over their noses in a desperate endeavor to rid themselves of the sickly scent.

By this time, we had attracted quite a crowd, people standing around wandering what the trouble was.

'Get inside, we're causing problems.' Sam muttered, leading the way up to the building whilst trying to act normal. I shrugged, following the pack towards the locker block. I keyed in the combination, swinging open the metal door and pulling out my school folders.

'Dude, this is disgusting.' Ashton grimaced, taking his place next to me at his locker.

'Where is it even coming from?' Harry chipped in, frowning at something happening in the corridor behind us. I shugged, clueless.

'It's obviously not something...' I looked around, lowering my voice. 'Human.'

I pulled a face before turning back to my locker, pushing books in to my bag and clicking the lock back into place. I sighed, contemplating something.

'You don't think it could be a-'

'No way Calum, I'm positive that they wouldn't come here. Our scent should show them that they aren't welcome here anyway.' Ashton swung his bag over his shoulder, slamming his locker closed too.

'Lets go gang.' Sam chimed, closing off that discussion for the time being.

Just as we reached the end of the corridor, I spun my head round when it became even stronger.

I noticed a boy with blonde hair standing by our lockers, where we had been only seconds ago. His skin was paler than anything I had ever seen before and his expression was cold, but I hardly had time to stare before he was gone.

I shook my head trying to forget about that mysterious boy; I was certain that I hadn't seen him round before. Shrugging, I followed behind the rest of the pack into the classroom, leaving the door to swing shut after me.
