Calum

The next day rolled around pretty quickly, luckily me having managed to avoid Luke for the rest of the day before.

I walked into the lunch cafeteria, my human stomach growling at the thought of a decent meal, but I knew better than to try eating. I was at the front of the pack today, having been the one to formulate the plan of confronting Luke. I saw him at the front of the drinks queue, passing over his money to the dinner lady, and I knew I had little time to steady myself before he was in prime position. I squinted my eyes at him, making sure he really was what I thought he was. His face looked even paler than usual and his blue eyes look harsh. But on the other hand, he looked perfect; there wasn't a flaw that could've been pointed out. His blonde hair was lazily flopped over his forehead that morning as if he had got up late, meaning he looked different to his usual quiff.

"I don't think this is a good idea." Ash mumbled from behind me, he too being slightly angered by the presence of the mysterious boy.

"We will do this one way or another, Ash." I snapped, marching across the cafeteria and taking a drink of water from the fountain.

'We don't have to do this Cal, you can't afford to take this risk.'

'Shut up Harry, I know what I'm doing.' I countered, waiting by the cafeteria door. I slouched against the door frame, half blocking anyone from getting out.

Luke dropped his money into his wallet, before leaving the queue with a bottle of lemon and lime fizzy water in his hand. His gaze caught mine, making me tingle with an unknown emotion. I watched as he stood by the far wall of the building, unscrewing the cap of his bottle and taking a long sip, before putting the bottle hastily into his bag. I think he realised my intentions as he took a seat at a table, pulling out his phone and started tapping away. Whatishedoing? I pondered, debating whether or not to stalk over there and rip the device out of his hand. The temptation to throw it against the wall was ever growing.

'Calum, we can just leave it.' Sam said, patting my shoulder lightly. I just shook my head, before taking off across the canteen to take the seat opposite the irritating blonde boy.

I looked over his shoulder, seeing he was playing a game.

'My gosh, you're playing Snake?' I spat, wondering what he was even doingwith his time.

'Yes, not that its any of your business.' Luke menaced, standing quickly to his feet in attempt to push past me. I grabbed his arms, holding him in place.

'You aren't going anywhere, until you tell me what is wrong with you.' I spoke lowly, not wanting for anyone to hear.

'I don't want to hurt you,' he whispered, his voice cold and heartless. 'But I advise you to stay away.' He turned to walk away, but before he did he sent a menacing, sloped smile. 'I mean, I can practically smell the dog.' And then he was gone.

I growled quietly, what did he mean by that? I ran off to the running track, not sure if I was being followed or not.

I pulled my shirt off, shrugging off my back pack, and sprinted down the track. I could hear mutters around me but I didn't really care, I was completely focused on letting off steam.

I knew he was one, and I am determined to find out. Vampire, vampire, vampire. I didn't know they existed until now, but there was no other word to describe him. His hands had felt icey cold, his eyes piercing. Being a werewolf, running never bothered me and I didn't seem to get out of breath, but I stopped at the end of the track as I slumped down against a tree. I could hear whispers and excited giggles from the girls. It never bothers me though, I know that my body is attractive. I felt somebody approach me, and I looked up to see a pretty, brown haired girl. She smiled at me shyly, biting her lip, before asking, 'Do you mind if i sit there?', pointing at the spot next to me. I shook my head, sending her a small smile. She dumped her bag on the ground, swinging her legs round to stretch out infront of her. 'Are you okay?' she asked, looking at me carefully. She didn't seem too bad, but I had to be careful; I didnt want to hurt her like before.

'I'm okay.' I said simply, pulling at the bracelet around my wrist. She ran a hand through her hair, making me notice the blue highlights. 'I like your hair.' I stated, shrugging. I wasn't the most social person even if I was popular.

'Oh, thanks.' She smiled. 'I'm Chantelle, but you can call me Elle if you like.' She shifted in her seat picking at the hemline of her pink dress.

'Well, Chantelle, I think you have a beautiful name.'

okay, so maybe I do flirt, but only abit.

She just blushed, before saying, 'Calum, you dont look very happy. You can talk to me if you need to.'

I got up, and started walking down the track. I couldn't tell her about my vampire problems. I looked back, sending her a wink.

She was my type, shouldve got her number, I thought to myself.

But I was too deep in thought of Luke to think about it.

I can practically smell the dog.

I can practically smell the vampire, I thought, picking up my bag and shirt. I took my phone out of my pocket as I walked back to the lunch room to find my friends, looking down my mentions on twitter.

@CalumHood Where did you go mate? need to talk.

It was from Ashton.

@AshtonIrwin omw to find you.

Oh dear, he was going to be mad. And I'm sure it would end up with a battle later this evening in the pack.

Oh well, I dismissed the idea. Ive always been stronger anyway.
