Bucky couldn't remember how HYDRA got him or how he got into the chair that ruined his life in the first place.
But he didn't care.
He knew what was going to happen to him and he knew that he had to remember her face.
At least her face.
He sat in the chair, strapped down, scared out of his damned mind.
But he didn't show it.
He had to remember her.
So he pictured her in his mind, her long Y/HC/N, her beautiful glowing Y/EC/N eyes.
He heard voices and then a door hissing open.
Bucky stared straight ahead not paying any attention to them at all.
They started to lower the device over his head.
It took every fiber of his being not to break down right then and there.
He wanted her.
He wanted her to hold him and tell him its just a dream like always but this time it wasn't a dream and he was holding on to that sliver of hope that told him that he would see her again.
He was hoping he would be strong enough this time to remember some of the good things and that after this small portion of hell he would find everyone and get help again.
He would come back to her.
Then he remembered.
The little note he kept hidden on him at all times just incase something like this would happen.
He prayed to whatever god was listening that they would not find it.
He closed his eyes.
The machine started up.
Then endless screaming.

When Bucky woke up he was in a cell.
An image of a person in his mind.
His next victim.
He went to his assigned area and got into a vehicle.
Then he was off to cause hell for the family of his next victim.

You were frantic.
You have searched days and weeks for him, but no matter how many times you checked with an also frantic Steve he was no where to be found.
You didn't sleep at all, barely ate at all, and the growing bags under your eyes showed it.
Your thoughts were consumed by him and it was killing you.
Yet you still went to work in the tower and spent numerous hours looking at radars, satellites, security camera footage, praying to any god that was listening that he would show up anywhere.
You were growing desperate and your hope was slowly dwindling.
You hoped that when they did find him your Bucky would still be inside and that he would find the note.
As you walked into the tower to work you ignored all the pity looks people gave you.
You walked into the living quarters and to one of the conference rooms so you could use the big screens.
