"Thank you for coming", Jihye hugged Hyeri weakly after staying awake for three days with her mom. Hyeri looked at the framed photograph of Jihye's mom and gave a slight frown. "Do you need a ride home?", she offered but Jihye rejected hoping to stay longer with her only family member.
"Do have some rest", she hugged her again and gave a smile of encouragement before turning around to leave.
Jihye watched her friend leave and turned back to look at the photograph that was staring back at her. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there during the last moment", she kneeled down before her.
"You might be thinking that I went on behalf of you but I promised that I would take you there on day. But I went alone. I will not forgive myself for everything", she bit her lips as she kept her head low, tears flowed down to her white skirt. The organisers walked in and she got up to her feet, ready to follow them as they took the body to be cremated. That was the worst place to be in.
"Any last words, Miss Jung", they asked her and waited for her reply as she stared at the figure laying peacefully.
Without waiting longer, they pushed the coffin in for cremation and Jihye watched at they began the process.
She could hear footsteps from behind approaching the scene, she thought it was just some other people watching.
Jimin stopped beside her and his presence made her turn to him with wide eyes. "Why are you here?", her eyes searched for the particular person before looking back at the fire.
She placed the thought of him at the back of her head as the fire took over the coffin. Her heart clenched at the scene, she couldn't take her eyes off of her mom.
Jimin wrapped his arms around her as he pulled her close, to stop her from watching the process. "It's okay, she's at a better place", he said and the tears that formed without her acknowledgement stained Jimin's black suit.
"She's in a better place", he whispered again as he stared at the exit with a frown.
The door closed as Jihye got in the van that Suga was driving. "I'm sorry we couldn't be there, had some urgent work to do", he apologized but Jihye shrugged it off with a straight face.
"Let's get going. Mrs. Cho is waiting on you", Suga said and Jihye's stomach churned at the thought of returning to work.
Quietly getting off the van, she made her way inside the building, leaving Jimin and Suga inside. It was silent before Suga asked, "how was she?".
He could only shake his head as his answer.
"Jungkookie is just the same. He's basically distracting himself with all the work", Suga sighed and Jimin was confused.
"He told you?"
Suga shook his head, "he drunk dialled me that night when Jihye returned home. I just listened to what he had to say. I'm not being nosy or anything but our maknae was being so obvious with his feelings with Jihye. And that happened"
"They will make up one day", Jimin assured and got off to get back into practice.
The staff room was messy with outfits lying on the floor. Mrs. Cho glanced at and rushed to give Jihye a tight hug, "I'm so sorry for calling you in this hour"
"But you don't have to worry about all this mess but I just need to get your confirmation about this and this", she pushed two sheets towards her and Jihye grabbed the first paper that was showing Jungkook wearing all the outfits.
Jihye gave a slight nod of approval before placing the paper back on the table and taking the other.
She studied the paper and looked at Mrs. Cho for a second. "You don't need to answer this now. Bang PD said he will see you in two weeks time or anytime before he leaves for America for workshop", she frowned.
The atmosphere was quiet and all she could hear was their breathes and she bowed before making her exit.
The form was crumbled into a lose ball and she stuffed it in her bag.
A figure approached from the end of the hallway and stopped in front of her. "How are you feeling?", a deep voice echoed.
Taehyung stared at her softly and all she could do was nod. "Can you follow me for a moment?", he didn't wait for her as he grabbed her arm, dragging her into the practice room where the other members were.
The music stopped as soon as the door opened and Jin pulled her inside next to Jimin and Jungkook. She stared back, confused at what they were planning.
Suddenly, Jungkook took a big step back and made his way out of the room. She stared at his retreating figure and silently sighed. Rapmonster bit his lips at the scene and hugged Jihye tightly to comfort her.
"I'm really really fine. You don't have to hug me this tight", she chuckled as she broke from the tight hold.
Jhope patted her back with a smile, "you have to be optimistic and strong like Hobi Oppa". Jihye smiled widely at his words and laughed as soon as he began to dance funnily for her.
"We are your family now", Jin rubbed her back as he said. "Our dorm does not allow females but since you have already been there for the night, you're the only and only exception" he joked and his face became serious.
"We will always be there for you thick and thin. Just remember that we are just a call away and I would like you to have this", he placed the apartment key on her palm and she quickly pushed it back to him only to receive a glare from him.
"Thank you", she really needed those words. 'Thank you for coming into my life', she looked at them with a small smile and gestured them to continue with practice. She stared at the key longer and placed it in her bag along with her home keys.
The boys except Jungkook continued the rehearsal and Jihye waved as she made her way out.
On her way out, Jungkook walked past her and grabbed onto her arm to stop her from walking.
"I'll drop you home", he offered but she rejected it by pushing his hand away."This is the last time we are going to be together alone. After this, I'll let you go your way and you can choose to stay or leave, I won't stop you"
