Chapter 14

Hailey's pov

It has been one month since i talked or seen Zeus,he kept his promise of staying away from me and still something inside me is screaming that i over reacted and am supposed to see him.
Have been going out on dates with Don but i don't think i am going to keep this show up. Taking a deep breathe and continuing to sign the documents on my table i heard my office phone ring. Picking up the phone i was greeted with Mindy's voice.

"Miss there is a line i kept on hold waiting to be received from the Stanford offices."

"Put them through."

"Okay."

"Hey Darling," Don's voice ringed from the other line.

"Hey,how are you doing?"

"Am good just checking in on you,are we still up for that date?"

"Yes we are."

"Good see you at eight?"

"Eight it is."

8pm. That day.

"You look beautiful and stunning in that dress Hailey,mint is definitely your colour." Don said while pulling the chair from the table for me to sit on.

"Thank you Don you don't look bad yourself either." I said smiling at him.

"Am sorry but i really have to ask what's wrong? You've been sad this couple of weeks and my brother has been an asshole to me too,did something go on between you two during that meeting to lead to this fall out?"

"No Don,nothing happened we are fine,am fine just busy."

"Good because i hate seeing the people i love unhappy."

The waitress came in and took our orders and added a complimentary wine to go with our meal. I was so into my own thoughts that i accidentally zoned out on Don.

"Hailey? Hailey? Are you okay?"

"What?am sorry about that,what did you say?"

"You haven't touched your food is it bad?"

"No,its fine sorry." Before Don could say other words i heard my phone ring. Zeus.

"Sorry but i have to take this." Raising amd heading to the restroom i accepted the call.

"Zeus,such a surprise, anything wrong?"

"No,can you come over to my place i really have to speak to you,its important."

"Ok..maybe in an hour am on a date."

"You have to come over immediately,i know you on a date with Don but i really need to see you."

"Fine then am coming over." Ending the phone call i walked back to the table and Don gave me a questioning look.

"Is everything ok?"

"I have to cut this wonderful date of ours short,something came up."

"Is Zeus ok? Because i saw his name on the screen."

"I don't know that's why i am going to his place to know he said its something important am guessing is about the company."

"I can come with let me finish paying...a"

"No! I mean...no i will be fine i will call you if the situation is bad."

"Okay?" Taking my bag and coat i left the restaurant and hailed a cab. Entering i gave the address and it drove off. Arriving out side his building apartment i opened the door and stepped out of the car and walked in the lobby. Pressing the penthouse elevator it binged to show its arrival. I couldn't help getting this feeling that something wrong is about to happen. My legs were shaking,i got this shivering feeling all through my body and my stomach was unsettled.
