*buzz buzz*
My eyes shoot open to the bright sun shinning in my eyes. I carefully pat my jean pockets so I don't awake the stranger who was sound asleep, resting their head on my shoulder. I feel the lump of my phone and dig it out of my pocket.
Crystal
I miss you already! Text me when you get to your new place (:
I sigh and shove my phone back in my pocket. Causing the stranger to awake, I receive a glare and a cold shoulder.
"Sorry." I mutter quietly.
I tuck my feet under my body and stare out the tiny window, forgetting about the world and all my fears.
4 hours later
"Everyone may unbuckle their seat belt and leave in a orderly fashion. Thanks for flying with us this evening." Speaks the flight attendant in the front of the plane.
I gather my belonging's and wait patiently for the people in front of me to move along. As I wait I whip out my phone and look through the texts I missed while I was sleeping.
The monster
5345 Barwon Street. The key is under the mat, I'll be out for the rest of the night with Chris. Don't be late for school tomorrow.
My mom (the monster) had moved here a few months in advance, while I was finishing my 10th year of school in Georgia.
I simply just role my eyes at the text and continue me way off the plane and through the terminal. Once I get my bags I walk towards the exit. The sun is already beating down on me as I hail a cab. A yellow cab pulls up to the curb and slide into the back with my bags.
"Where to lady?" The cab driver mumbled.
"Um..." I scan the cab trying to find his ID.
"Um... what lady? Come on."
"Sorry, 5345 Barwon Street please."
He sighs and switches the gear to drive. With a couple of grumbles of the cab we're off. As we drive I look out my window and observe the city. I decide to text my friend Crystal back.
Miss you too, I am heading over to my place now. Its the late evening here but its probably the early morning there. Talk later x
Just as I am about to shut off my phone we pull up to the curb.
"That would be 10 dollars." He puts simply, holding out his hand waiting for the money.
I quickly take out my wallet and give him the money.
"Thank you for the ride" I smile and get out of the car and walk up the drive way to a monster size house. I drop my jaw in amazement, as this is the biggest house that I will have lived in.
She is getting better at gold digging I'll give her that.
I reach the front door and bend down and reach under the mat for the key. I pick up the key and open the door slowly thinking that opening it too fast I'd break the expensive looking door. Walking through the door I spot a spiral stair case leading up to the second level. I close and lock the door and make my way to the stairs. Trudging up the stairs I feel my phone vibrate. I pick up my pace on the never ending stairs. As I reach the top of the stairs I start walking through the hallway to find an untaken room. When I reach an open room I plop my bags down on my bed and fall on my bed due to exhaustion. I pull out my phone and read my new text.
Crystal
Sweet, Tell me how your first day at school goes.
I feel no need to respond so I force myself up and head to the bathroom and find it already has towels, shampoo and conditioner. I strip my clothes off and turn on the hot water in the shower and hop in. As I shower I look at my scars lining my inner thighs and hope that tomorrow wont bare pain and only bring happiness.
