Cassie's POV.

The problem with getting too close to people, is they all end up leaving. They say you have to enjoy it while you have it, well yes, that's true, but the thing is, you knew how good you had it, but you just never thought you'd lose it.

That's the way I felt with Hannah. I hated her for ruining my life, but in the end, she saved me. The most unlikely person in the entire world saved my life. And I couldn't save hers in return.

Sitting my house gets lonely, especially when Niall and I haven't even spoken a word. Two days isn't enough time to just get over someone dying, it's just not possible.

~

While I was laying in my bed like I have been doing for two days now, the phone rang, like it has over a million times. I figured it was my mother. She's been calling everyday, sometimes more than once to check up on us. She's worried, how mothers are, but how much trouble could I get in if I haven't actually left my bed other than to pee.

I answer expecting her to ask me loads of questions on how I'm doing...instead, a older woman's voice answers my extremely irritated 'hello.'

"Hello Miss. Davis, I am Joanne Pegucci, head nurse at Berkshire Medical. I'm calling with regard to an accident that happened recently." She said all sophisticated.

"yes?" I gulped hard. "What about it?"

"Well, you see, the other individual in the crash survived but is intensive care. He did not have a wallet or anything to identify him. We then did a DNA test with his blood and we found that you and him we're very...similar I guess you could say." she said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, completely baffled.

"What I'm trying to say Miss Davis is that the man in the car was your biological father."

Niall's POV.

I heard something fall onto the floor upstairs. I ran up the stairs and opened our bedroom door.

I saw Cassie sitting on the bed, her face in full fledged shock. I picked up the phone to see who she was talking to.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hello?" The woman on the other end said.

"who is this?" I asked.

"I am the head nurse Joanne Pegucci at the Berkshire Medical Center and I was calling with regard to Miss Davis' father, whom is in intensive care from the accident earlier this week." She said.

I felt my mouth drop..Cassie's father? She hasn't even seen him since she was little, or heard from him since she came back! I tried looking for him for a while, but it was like he fell off the face of the earth!

"Um yes." I said.

"Yes, well sir, he was unconcious and we took a DNA sample and it lead us back to Miss Davis, and so the police wanted us to call her to ask if she could come down to the hospital and answer some questions." She said.

"Um, sure." I said, since my brain couldn't process fully at the moment.

I hung up and sat down on the bed next to Cassie.

When I did, she didn't even flinch. Her eyes didn't move from the place they were staring at on the wall. She just sat there...completely numb.
