Chapter 33

Annabeth POV
Yesterday was rough I took as many painkillers as the bottle said I could and constantly had ice on my face. To think the girl could have just simply pushed me off of her and given me my phone.

I fold what little clothes I had brought with me and shove them in my bag. Today I leave at one, so I just have to get through one more day of training.

"Hey Annie! We are doing karate downstairs, come on!" Giving Thalia a thumbs up we walk out the door.

I'm pretty sure they won't put me in because I look like a black and blue spotted cookie, but I guess I still have to watch. When we walk into the room I immediately spot Grace, partly cause she also looks like a gross cookie and partly because she is glaring at me.

And I thought Thalia's glares were bad... all the girls in this cult-ehmm I mean group were there. I sat down on the bench with Thalia, Bianca, and Zoe.
Groups of girls went up to the mats at a time and started fighting each other. Suddenly someone slaps my back. "Your turn newbie." I turn and look at Zoe like she is crazy. "Don't worry you will be evenly matched." She points her finger. "You will be fighting Grace."

My first thought was oh crap, my second thought was I need a strategy I could use to beat her. I know where she is hurt and I noticed some of her weak spots. But I also know she is very aggressive.

We step on to the mats. Aggressive is good, that means she will make the first move. We get into our fighting stance. I stay like that waiting for her to make the first move and sure enough she does.

Grace does a quick kick and I step backwards dodging it. After blocking a lot of her blows I turn to the side and do a round kick right on the side of her stomach.

She drops to the ground and groans. I had hit her in the same place I bruised her the night before. After she fell to the floor I sat down with a thump. I may have blocked most of Grace's blows but she got some in and they hurt.

I watch as Thalia comes over with my whiteboard in hand. She hands me the whiteboard and asks me if I'm ok. Fine. What time is it? "It is 11:30."
Awesome. Let's eat an early lunch.

Thalia nods her head and offers me her hand. I gladly take it and push myself up. We head to the lunch room and I just scoop up mash potatoes and Mac n cheese.

Both are delicious and easy to chew with a hurt jaw, well more like swallow. Thalia talked the whole lunch about The Hunters. Why is she still trying to get me to join? It's obvious I don't like it here.
We finished lunch at 12:30. It took forever for me to get the Mac n cheese down. I got up from the table and headed off towards Artemis's office. Hi... can I have my phone now that I'm leaving?

Artemis folded her arms and then went on a rant about how boyfriends are distractions and boys are disrespectful pigs and blah blah blah. I look at the clock 12:50. Well that wasted a good 20 minutes of my life. I completely understand. Can I please have my phone back now?

Artemis pulls out a desk drawer and reaches inside, she grabs my phone and tosses it to me. I was erasing my whiteboard when she threw it to me so it just hit me in the chest and fell to the floor.
I grab it off the ground and walk out the door turning around and giving her a thumbs up.

I turn on my phone and look through my notifications. All I see is Percy's texts their are dozens of them. Then my phone goes black. Darn it! The stupid battery. "Here's your bag! Ready to roll?"

Bianca hands me my bag. Yeah I'm so ready! I write down on my whiteboard: Bianca and I head towards the door. I am out of here!
