Dreamers That Fly

Dreamers go unwanted;
Too fanatical a group.
They just don't fit the standards,
Like they were supposed to do.

Call them out extraneous;
Call them out as fools.
Why dare to leave the safety of your nest?
Why break and discard the rules?

Well, Dreamers, now I tell you,
I know why you didn't belong.
Because who else dared to fly?
Who else dared to sing your song?

You were the eagles disguised as pigeons,
Us, the prim peacocks.
Yet what we failed to recognize,
Was that your feathers were still brighter locks.
