The highway lined with that black sky
That winded round the bend again
No horizon to hide in
And I
Press my foot up on the dash
I think I'm afraid to ask
But I wonder
"What's on your mind?"
And the cold pressed against the window pane
You start to tremble and your breath begins to break
Left your soul out on the road, we couldn't stay, we ran away
And I felt it fade
But your eyes say
"Love, I need you, don't you wonder how
I ever made it this far?
Love, I can't explain this quiet loudness
And I can't break your heart.
And we're stuck in a cage we call freedom
Always looking for stars...
In this spectacular now."
I toss my foot up to the beat
Close my eyes, thought to breathe
Hum the words I forgot
And you
You caught my heart out on your sleeve
Sing your costly memories
But you're asking
"What have we lost?"
And you say to me the words I can't forget
Kept on telling you  "I'm wounded, not perfect"
And your so beautifully nervous, because I heard it, I heard it
I almost left
But I, I
Love, I need you, don't you wonder how
I ever made it this far?
Love, I can't explain this quiet loudness
And I can't break your heart.
And we're stuck in a cage we call freedom
Always looking for stars...
In this spectacular now.
                              In this spectacular now.
